Hello everyone. The Video Game Awards 2009 just finished and I'm wondering...could GT5 win the VGA 2010???
UPDATE: Do you think Polyphony Digital could be awarded studio of the year?
UPDATE 2 Will you vote for gt5 next year? If yes, for which award? If not, why? To tell you the truth I would vote Polyphony Digital as the best studio,GT5 best racing game,MAG best shooter,FF13 best Graphics,Game of the Year and Best RPG

Best graphics - maybe. None of the rest. Fact is, plenty of other driving games out there have eclipsed the actual driving/racing experience that GT offers. Best PS3 game? Not by a long shot. Game of the Year? Riiiiiight...

As i don't know what other 2010 releases there is going to be i can't really say too much. But i bet FFXIII (which i think is set for later 2010) will be given best PS3 & 360 game, GOTY etc. etc.

If GT isn't given the best Driving game award, i will be at first a bit angry, but then i will come round to the idea and see the amazing game that is supposedly better than GT5. The chances are a Forza game won't be released that year. The only other notable competitors would be Mariokart and Need for Speed... Surely not.

For a game that big graphics are better than fine. Anyway the topic is about GT5 not Final Fantasy 13

I think: Best Driving game for sure, and possibly best graphics.

As LP(from techno buffalo) said, it is possible to have 1080p resolution,high detailed textures and anti-aliasing in racing and fighting games because they have repeated sceens(tracks in this case). So I don't think best graphics will go to GT5 just because it has some tracks and cars, not unique places like Uncharted 2

Look, games like GT are slow burners, and accumulate massive sales over time. It doesn't have the immediate fan-base and all-round appeal to propel it to instant fame. So, best graphics it may well take, and it might even take best racing game (on PS3), but that's about all you can ever expect from any racer, no matter how good.

None of my mates are into Driving games at all. Its kind of the reason why i joined this forum, noone i know is interested in what i have to say about it. (infact most users on here don't have any interest in what i have to say But some do with is encouraging).

For that reason i think GT won't win any of the major awards, its just not popular enough (despite its sales figures). But best driving game is a must.

VGA comes in winter while GT5 in spring(or summer). There is plenty of time for a fan-base to be created. But you are right, racing games are underestimated while shooters are !@#$

Why???? We all know how good the game will be so why not to speculate??? If you dont want to participate in this speculation then don't. I had recently seen VGA 2009 and I was wondering if GT5 had a chance. So i started this thread.

P.S. Waiting is a virtue and a curse at the same time: You know that if you wait the game will be better but waiting is boring too
