I want to go through and complete all events. After completing the 3-4 circuits in each event there seems to be no way of knowing at a glance which events I have completed.

I notice events have three colors....green, blue, and grey I think. What does each color represent? After completing, the color stayed the same. Sometimes I would get a check mark for the event, sometimes not? Seems random.

What do the check marks represent?
What does the "half sun" rep?
I think the gold circle is 1st place?
Any suggestions on how do I know which ones I have completed? I really need a system.

I must be missing something obvious,.....Thank you for your time.

A green icon means the car you're currently in is eligible. A blue, at least one of your garage cars. Grey means you own none capable of entering.

A check mark means all races in a particular event have been golded (1st place finish). The gold emblem on a race signifies this. The half sun represents a sunset setting on that track, as some have that option.

Great! Thanks. But to keep track of them, which ones I have done already, I would have to write them down or something along those lines? Any suggestions?

You are going to win all of the races, correct? If yes, each race won will show the gold circle. All completed races in the event with a gold circle will show a check mark for that event. No need to write down what you have done. The game keeps track of that.

Gottcha, I kinda figured that would be the answer. ;) Thanks.

That makes me think back to when I first opened the event list, I had absolutely no idea what it all meant and where I was at in terms of racing (had only done some world tour races by that stage). I was desperately looking for a legend, particularly as to what the colors green, blue, and grey represented, but I couldn't find that either. As a result of my utter confusion, I actually decided it was too much and put Forza 4 aside again for quite some time before I finally got back into it.

Thats funny. :D After I got my answer, it was obvious when I went from event to event I could see as clear as day the car staus change when the color changed.....curent car elgible, you have garage cars, etc. :P If it wasn't for you guys I'd be totally confused.

When you highlight an event where you haven't won all of the races look to the right under the event info. You'll see an events fraction like 3/5. 5 would be the total races in the event and I believe three represents how many you've won. It's a quick way of assessing what's left to do for a particular event.
