Crackling in Bluetooth audio..

I've got my laptop paired to my Sony stereo system via Bluetooth. I thought it was working perfectly until I noticed a persistent crackling in the highs, the kind of crackling/noise you hear in audio with low bit rate, but the music files I'm playing are all either 320kbps MP3 or FLAC. It's really bugging me. I've heard increasing Bluetooth's bandwidth would help, but I've no idea how to do that. Any ideas?
