As u can see in this picture the driveshaft is still on the wheel... I still think its a suspension faliur...

The Suspension broke... the wheel was loose and it broke so the driveshaft was holding the wheel to the car... which aint enof to support this so the wheel whent its way and the driveshaft followed...

no? yes? maybe?

Lets investigate (kinda)

Hey thats a great pic to help solve this debate, good show 👍

If the drive shaft is still attached to the wheel, doesnt it mean there was a gearbox failure?

Hey now...that overgrown go-kart sells a lot of cigarettes to kids....and at high speeds.

So - if you couldn't care less, why would you post here?

But the worst of all is that the wheel might have been a killer wheel. Sevaral people have died because of wheels flying over the track.

to be a pain in the rectum, why else?

when I first saw it looked like a susp. failure of some kind

Was waiting for the question to JPM in the post race interview about it, but it never came
He was damn lucky that none of Rubens' car ended up being injested by his, or copping a puncture either for that matter

Nice pic BTW 👍

It could have been a gearbox failure. If the driveshaft detached from the gearbox, the centrifugal force would cause it to hit the wishbones, which would be pretty much curtains for the suspension.

Okay - so it was a leading upper wishbone failure, from a couple of unusual kerb strikers. Load's shifted into the upper wishbone under braking, strained wishbone snaps, DNF, there we go...

...just hope the fencing was strong enough to stop that wheel...

I saw a marshal shaking part of the fence and it didnt look to stable
