Crazy things happening

I am getting the same login issues that everyone has been mentioning, but check this out.

I had my B-Spec grinder off.
I turned on the remote race server.
I got the login error, so I closed the widget.
A race automatically started on my machine ... with the widget off!
An hour later I turned off GT5 to watch a DVD
I had not been able to login to GT Online
I just logged into GT Online, and it said I was participating in a race. I clicked on it and it showed that I was 4 laps in. The PS3 is off.

What's going on?

Oh no! Will I be able to connect to PSN from my bomb shelter?

especially doubtful as the widget is redirecting to the same login error that a browser is.
