I can't seem to find any reviews on the CSL Wheel stand from Fanatec

http://us.fanatec.com/Stand?product_id=686

I can only find information on the older Rennsport stand. Is it exactly the same? I want a wheelstand for my driving force gt, that can collapse and be tucked away easily. The other choice is the wheel stand pro v2, which is 30$ more. Do both of these secure the pedals well? I dont think you can hardmount driving force gt pedals.

I would go with the wheelstand pro, it can hold your pedals very well.
I have it also and can recommend it 👍 , strong, easy to fold and you can adjust everything perfectly. The only gripe is that if you have a stone floor like me (smooth marble like), then you will need to put it against the TV closet otherwise it will slide about a bit.

I had a wheelstand pro with DFGT and was completely satisfied with the stand. The rubber feet are made of a special anti-slip compound - they didn't slip on my laminate / wood floor unless they got dirty, then it was just a case of wiping off the dust and they were non-slip again. A big advantage of this stand is it's adjustability - the pole can be either upright or leaning forward or backward. Some stands have to be set upright which makes it harder to get the wheel into a comfortable position. The quality of the wheelstand pro is unbelievable - the primary product of the parent company is hydraulic pipes and fittings - when you examine the stand you can't tell how they cut the tubes, because the finish is so good, however some cheaper stands are made of box section and look like cheap office furniture!

I have the older version of the CSL Stand, the Rennsport wheel stand, and I like it alot. I have had my G27, my T500 and now my old DF Pro on it. It's adjustable and easy to store. You really can't hard mount pedals on it, I just use superlock strips tho, and they work just fine. I don't worry about stability, even with the heavy T500 on it!

They look 90% the same, however the new CSL Stand looks more lightweight, especially on the base/pedal runners. The CSL Stand alos seems to have a new system to lock the pedals in place, although the DFGT pedals don't have hard mounting points IIRC. I don't think you'd really go wrong either way myself, WSP makes a nice stand from what I understand, and Fanatec does too.

The wheelstand pro hard mounts the DFGT pedals to the stand by using a strip of metal retained by two allen bolts - this mounting works fine, just be careful not to overtighten the bolts otherwise the plastic pedal case can crack.

Thanks for the input guys, I went ahead and bought the wheelstand Pro for $133 shipped direct from their website. That little metal strip that goes on the DFGT pedals sealed the deal for me over the Fanatec, plus I dont have to wait/worry about them shipping overseas.

Has anybody here had both the Wheel Stand Pro and the Fanatec CSL? I just ordered a G27 and my DFGT WSP will not work with the G27. I was happy with the WSP for my DFGT. Just want to make sure it is worth the extra money over the Fanatec before I order another one since the WSP for G27 is $180 and I just spent $280 for the G27 and the GTEYE brake pedal spring. (Wife is not entirely thrilled).

Theres not much different to the G27 and DFGT versions of the WSP (the 'deluxe' version is a little bit wider, and theres the shifter mount and different pedal bar.), and you can get basically an upgrade to the WSP from them which gives you the parts you need to mount the G27. Might be cheaper then getting a new one of either, anyway.

I just bought the Fanatec CSL wheel stand. It is very solid. I also bought their CSL pedals and the secure to the wheel stand via a metal bar and hex screws.

The only problem I have with the wheel stand is that even with the knob tightened at the base of the stand there is still a minute bit of play when you tug on the wheel. Other than that its a well made very solid wheel stand. I'll find a way to eliminate that tiny bit of play.

You need to REALLY tighten the knob at the base of the stand down. Use a wrench or something (carefully!) and you can get another quarter turn out of it that really locks it down.

Thanks for that gunstar. I'll try a wrench on it when I get home. It's as tight as a hand can get it. Ill wrap a bunch of cloth around the knob and put a wrench to it. Don't want to damage the finish.

For those considering the Fanatec CSL you really cant go wrong with it. It really is a nice looking very, very well made stand.

I'm going to look at modifying it with my drill to be able to run the ps/2 cable through the tubing and one of the legs so the wire is hidden. I'll put some rubber grommets in the holes to protect the cable. If it can be done and look factory I will do it. If it will look like a butcher job I won't.

I also just ordered a Fanatec CSL wheel stand. I've been using a wobbly foldable table for over 2 years so I hope it is a big improvement.
