CSR Elite Brake Pedal Spiking

I haven't been using my CSR Elite (wheel and pedals) for a while, tried running iRacing today, I get constant spiking of the brake pedal. Easily visible in the Properties page, as well as any game. Happens with any position of the pot or load cells. I get very short (milliseconds) 100% spikes on the brake, usually 2 to 5 in each one second interval, it otherwise works smoothly (ie. the bar will move appropriately with position of the load cell). It's sometimes at a little faster or lower rate, will sometimes go a few seconds then goes again, so not at a steady pace, but never goes more than say 5 seconds without at least one spike.

Updated drivers etc., same thing. I thought it might be a Win10 issue (recently updated this machine) but same issue on a separate Win7 machine.

The pedals are of course off warranty, any suggestions for things to try?

I would try connecting the pedals separately to the pc and see if the spiking is still there. My elite pedals were spiking and were fixed after I replaced the circuit board in the pedals (thanks to Fanatec support).

How do I do that? The base is connected to the PC via w/ USB, the pedals connect to the wheel base with the round DIN connector.

If you are talking about the CSR Elite pedals (the one with the load cell) - you can connect them either (but not both at the same time) to the wheel with a din connector or directly to a pc with a usb cable. Just turn the pedals over, you will see a usb connector next to the din connector - the same one on some printers.

I called Fanatec support and they talked me thru it.

FYI (been a while) but thank you gt_fan, this DID WORK! I attached the pedals separately to the PC with a USB cable (rather than to the wheel console with the DIN connector) and all is working fine. Thanks for the advice!

I'm glad it works for you. The only downside is that if you use a console, you will need the din connection.
