Cultus VS Escudo

Haven't used the Cultus before. The Escudo and Cultus cost the same so why would you buy one with less horsepower.
Anyway, who really cares about its turning. Real races aren't like licence tests where you have to stay on the track or you can't crash into barricades. You can go off the track if you please and you can smash into barricades. With the Escudo you can always easily catch them back up again if your losing anyway.
So, I think the Escudo would be better.

I hate the escudo, and the cultus they both suck, and require no skills what so ever to drive. I've tried to loose on purpose with the escudo and I can't. Crash into every wall on every turn and still win by 30sec. thats no fun. Arm wrestling infants is more challenging.

Dude, I do'nt have to choose since I kick A$$ at all those games.
When I race I like a challenge, the escudo takes away any challenge...If you like taking candy from babies, go ahead I'm not mad at you, but do'nt be mad for enjoying a higher degree of difficulty.

The Escudo Pikes Peak Version racecar is good if you use it for what it it made for and that is racing Pike Peak in the dirt. Sure anybody can take the pikes peak racecar and win with and that takes no skill at all, I know when I first got the game I used that car too. But now I think it sucks for road racing.

The Escudo and Cultus were not made for fans of racing games. They were made for people who rent the game at their local video store so they can win the game and then return the game before late fees get charged to their account.

Hmmm, as far as the I hybirds go, I know nothing. Though I imagine you could race two equaly mached hybirds, to make
a fair race.
Now about that Hemi Cuda..... I love muscle cars, (though I do'nt think GT 2 did'em justice) but I hope you're not suggesting that beutiful beast can compete with a car with 4WD, 2,000lb lighter, with 500 more HP, and race modified!!?? Hell yea, thats beyond taking candy, thats assult with a deadly weapon. LOL

ok here's my take I like the escudo , yes it is like taking candy but , I go beyond that try this ( it's a challenge to all who read this) take the escudo to the GT allstars Red Rock Valley and try to lap all the cars before the end of the race if you can do that you have my respect , of course I can do it also my best time is 4.38.313
8000 hp???? I realize i havent played gt2 in a while, but, how did you get an 8000hp viper? are you talking about the STP Viper GT that you get from the GT500 Championship? that car has 645 hp. So, please explain how you have a car that has 8000 hp? that seems like it would ruin the game worse than the escudo. maybe its just me.

Most people say the escudo is exagerated and too easy to drive and thus driving with him is cheating.
If the escudo wasn´t in the game the GTone would be such car if the GTone wasn´t in the game the R390 GT1 would be such car and so on; poliphony just decided to draw the line with that car (OK if it was another it would´ve been nicer).
As for competitive driving and not requiring skill, not so - that is just how you decide to drive him, true it´s one of the few cars that can probably get best lap times hitting walls but you can just do a really crazy no-smashes lap and realize that was though and took it out of you.
If people compete with friends with that car than that´s annoying but against AI well then using a cerumo would be cheating cause the AI is... easy. If you can´t beat the AI with a cerumo and have to use a escudo to do it stay away from GT2. Yeah I´ve bashed him in a couple of walls to finish races faster when I lacked the patient but not only him for that matter.
But even in the high speed departement that car just isn´t fun to drive I really prefer others.

Well, I'm not skynyrd, but I can answer that question. Anybody who has a gameshark and wants to beat the game easily (I.E. not legit) would want that much hp. Personally, I think thats half the fun, beating the game legit, but that's just me. Most of the appeal of the Gran Turismo series to me is the realism and realistic cars. If you want insanely overpowered fantasy cars, then maybe you should go to your local arcade and try RUSH.
Well for one thing, you'd have a pretty hard time winning any of the races in a 30,000 hp car. Almost CONSTANT wheelspin. No matter how far you stretch the gears, you have pretty much constant wheelspin. It's extremely hard to get a car with that much power to handle well at all.
And also, duane_ky, that car was a request. I have no idea what the person was thinking, but they were probably wondering how high the hp could get. That is a halfway decent handling car, btw...
Anyway, in case you guys didn't realize, I've been playing this game for years, and "beat" it a long time ago. It'd be collecting dust in a corner somewhere if I didn't build hybrids with it.

hp raise lie crazy sometimes also too when the game glitches.....a friend of mines was racing his impreza 22b when the game glitched...he went to his garage and the hp was 4000+....took it to the track....as soon as he launch the car the game froze...never had a chance to save....oh well....btw got two memo so no worries.
anyway back to topic...the escudo is king! no car can beat it or come close...it's road performance is awesome as well as power!
