Seriously, why are more people not using them? My biggest complaint about FM3 was the online lobbies that you couldnt change the settings.

Now with FM4, you can setup/join a custom public lobby with more realistic rules. When my Car Club isnt running private races, I like to make these rooms, and it takes forever for people to join.

Had a couple of buddies, including t.o., on last night in a custom public room. Damage set to simulation, and collisions always on. There were only 6 of us. For about 2 hours or so.

Are people scared of simulation damage, and longer laps? Joining a regular online lobby race is always easy, and always full. But it is also full of rammers, and divebombers. Why? With no damage and only 3 laps the only goal is to get to the front by any means necessary and with no damage it seems it means hit everyone till you are first.

In the custom rooms I have made or joined, I noticed 99% of the time people pass at the right times, people drive alot more clean, and they seem to be much more friendly.

Point of this post? For more people to start using the awesome custom room lobbies. They are much, much better. Check them out.

Edited I meant to say onine lobby, not custom online lobby.

People don't like running with damage, mainly because idiots cause big accidents and ruin your race instantly.

Like I said above, there are more idiots ruining your race in the regular public races, because the can keep ramming people over and over. If they did that in the custom rooms, they would hurt themselves as well. The custom ones with damage promote more clean driving. And also the host has the option to kick a player with no voting.

I race in custom lobbies but I still race with damage off because of idiots.

To each his own. Why run in custom lobbies though? Just wondering.

So I get to pick and chose: the tracks, restrictions, laps and people who race in the lobby or at least find a good host that does those things.

Matchmaking doesn't have that level of control and is usually filled with people who make homer simpson look smart, so I stay away from there.

Do you get to choose the restrictions?? :)

And my reason for the post....to bring it to more peoples attention. You can do anything in the custom made online public room, that you can do in a private race.

So I wish more people used them.
