I would realy like to know how to play my own music in GT5, every time i click on one of my tracks i have on the PS3. GT5 tells me this option is not supported.

Go to music library then click on Race BGM. Above the play button they is BGM settings click that. Inside select "use user BGM" then below click open ps3 system music folder. Then select which track you want. If you want to play a whole album click in play mode and make sure repeat is set to folder.

Hope this helps.

The volume depends on the music files themselves. Some are much quieter than others and unfortunately GT doesn't normalise them so if like me you have a load of different songs from different sources in a playlist the volume on each particular track is all over the place from barely audible to being far too loud no matter how much you tinker with the audio settings.

Questions?
-Can I play more than one album?
-Can I have the option to play custom soundtracks and the ingame soundtrack playlist together?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes, just put all the songs you want into a playlist on the PS3 XMB, then pick that playlist from inside GT5. As far as I can tell that's the only way to do it.

2. I don't think you can have both playing, no. Though I may be wrong.

Is there a global volume setting for music? i just want to turn all of it off but i can't seem to find it anywhere.
Help appreciated, thanks.

It's a pity that custom music can only be played in races , i'd like to use mine as background music in the menus.

This is one of my main gripes with GT5. Why oh why oh why oh why can you not change the menu music? The menu music is so awful it has got to be delibirate. I will admire anyone who can tolerate the ear assaulting Japanese nonsense for more than 10 seconds.

Surely the menu music is more important than the in game or replay music? I would imagine most people would turn in game and replay music off surely?

And Another thing! When you are watching the intro videos at the start of the Special events, there is no sound at all apart from the voice of the person presenting the video. So there are some scenes when you see cars driving around but with NO SOUND AT ALL. This indicates to me that there is usually music playing, but since I have turned the music off, there is nothing.

WHO THE HELL THINKS OF THESE THINGS? It's totally stupid

is anyone else having this problem with custom soundtracks. if a song doesnt finish by the end of the race, the same song starts again next time you enter the race? is there a way that can stop happening because i've just started the game (quick race times) and the next time i hear aggro santos playing i will throw my PS3 out of the window!

copy the files into your ps3 by going to the XMB and going to music, select your usb and the songs. After that, create a playlist to store all the songs in, then play the game, go to options, hardware, audio settings and go to Personal BGM.

I cant find it in the settings menus or find an option in the place where you can see all the songs?

Edit: also, what are museum cards?

Race BGM is not an issue for me because I turn it off. Most menu music is ok, I like the laid back jazz feel, but what I'm really having a hard time stomaching is that absolutely atrocious tuning shop music. If anyone knows how to change/disable that song please let me know. I know its a silly thing to complain about but its just a mood killer for me. For now i'll just be muting my TV when I need to buy parts for a car.

It is under Hardware -> Audio. It then brings up the PS Menu and you select the music you want to play from your hard drive. I made up a playlist for GT5 in advance, but I'm not sure if you have to.

I have tried everything everyone has recommended to get my custom music tracks to change as the gt5 tracks do and still have no luck. When I say change I mean, for instance, say your doing a license test and you have to do it 5 or 6 times to get it right. Well it just keeps playing the same track over and over. The only way it'll go to the next track is if u have a long enough race that the song ends and begins a new one before you cross the finish line. I've made a playlist in the xmb. Went to the main menu. Accessed the audio options. Clicked enable personal bgm. Clicked set bgm. Went to playlist. Selected shuffle and repeat folder. Then selected a track. I've even tried just selecting he playlist without selecting a track. Still it repeats same song. Please help before I go crazy!

What I do is max out both race BGM and personal BGM, if your having trouble listining to your music, lower the race sound effects.

can we add mp3 from USB flash memory to the game as gameplay music ?
I think it needs the music installed on your PS3 so it can access the music at all times, kind of a measure to ensure it will always load first time I guess.

I haven't experienced the song repeating yet but I have it on shuffle which may have stopped that. I had to make a playlist from the PS3 XMB then select it in the audio options in GT5. I put all SFX and ingame volumes to 75 and put my ingame music to 100-110, it all levels out nicely for me with these settings.

is this feature negated for online racing?
i've got it enabled for my single-player races, but online it still plays the horrible papa roach or whatever songs

I still cant get my custom music to change. I created a playlist in the XMB with the songs, 61 in total. I start GT5, at the main menu options, then hardware to audio. Enabled Personal BGM then Select Personal BGM. I see the songs in the XMB music folder and my custom playlist as well. I select the playlist which opens the folder. Now here's where I have trouble. I've tried every variation of play options but it still plays the same single song every time without shuffling. Does anyone have any answers to help? Thanks
