Both on comfort hards? It looked like he had sometimes more grip then you and took some corners faster, very cool to see such different lines trying to adapt to eachother.

Guys, just so i get this straight, and 100% clear: D1GP use comf tires? I had this person slagging me off, because in a 1-1 he passed me (on a straight without manji'ing), cause he had more grip under acceleration, because he was running Sport tires. He told me using a 300 bhp car an sport tires is more skill then battling ina 500 bhp car with comfs.

Is it me being thick, or is this guy a lunatic?

In D1GP they have to use street tires and those are comforts in GT5.
And from my own experience i can tell that it is not more difficult to drift with sports tires.

if your thinking in the lines of realism. comfort hard/medium is the most realistic you could get.
and even then its rather unreal in some aspects of drifting in gt5.
like entry speed. you dont enter a corner over 150 kmh(90mph) irl.
i barely dare to turn my car over that speed.lol
i tried and drift on the icy lakes a couple of days ago. and the grip was unbeilevable.
ive only driven in gt5 the week before that.LAter i found out the ice was rugged bc of the snow.
so it had more grip than on asphalt
170 hp in the car i drove.

lol Dominique, hard question to answer. I think you're both a bit right.
But sports tyres are quit sticky so it could involve more skill to get it sideways and stick it there, but in my opinion it won't be more realistic.

Maybe he's a bit looney.

I watched a RL tandem at Tsubuka, and they travel quite slowly while drifting, compared to what I expected.

So yhea, I think C/h's are the most realistic.
