does anyone think that the D1 drift competition should head to australia since the drift scene here is growing very quickly?

actaully we are starting to get more import cars over here and people are tending to stray away from holdens and fords and opt for silvias skylines etc

drifting is big is AUS, and you obviously dont realise how many Japanese import cars we have, and mostly all good ones too.

quite alot of D1 drifters were down here in melbourne drifting. Signal has come to adelaide aswell.

D1 drifters melbourne ???
( are you sure about that )

D1 drift competition in australia would be very hard because there is a big desert in the middle of Australia this makes it hard to have competitions as transport would be to costly and would take a while.

Melbourne ain't all desert :irked:

a few weeks or months ago, can't remember sorry, some D1 drifters came to calder park (not sure if they were D1 guys but thats what i was told).

and yes i was there :P

a few D1 drifters were in melbourne (not sure which ones) they have contacts in AUS, They wernt offically competing but they were here. Im pretty sure they did a few laps though

also a import parts shop in adelaide are good friends with Signal drifters and had them in adelaide and were drifting though the adelaide hills.

doesnt really matter though, we have that many imports already they arnt running out quick. Plus with the 15 year old rule 88 model imports are getting damn cheap (like R32's, A31 cefiros etc)

Unless there is a event going on, you probably wont see anything. Maybe try industral areas at night time, then you might see something (expecially if its raining)

I'd like some more drifting in Aus. Especially the Gold Coast. The main things that are drifted are silvias and skylines. I'd love to see more truenos but there arent many areound.

The only place i ever hear about drifting is at Malala Raceway (sp?) but thats in SA so not much chance of me seeing it.

Malalla is in Adelaide SA, Adelaide also has drift days at Port Gawler raceway. We get quite a bit drifting down here thanks to local import shops organising it.

Go here for more info on the Port Gawler drift days.

and look under "Events"

No.

There are roads through deserts. It takes four days to drive from Sydney to Perth. Events like this aren't put on at short notice.

Hi,
The D1 drivers that came to melb were Tsuyshi Tuzuka (free dom, kids heart) workshops, Ken Works, Drifter X from Signal and im not sure bout the other drivers... they were a few steps above the aussies....
I also went and was spewin that my car was off the road!
Cheers..
Dan.

here are some fine examples of what we get in Aussie town
