Damn, I fell behind...

Anybody else ever pop in one of the PS1 GT's and see how dismally behind you are in actually completing the game?

I popped in GT2 the other day, and actually muttered a "What the...?" when I saw my Completion Percentage at around 60%.

So I've spent the last few days going through all of the manufacturer races (which I had completely ignored previously, it seems.. I'm about 1/3 of the way through them now). And I didn't even have my Super license!! I hadn't even started on my Super license.. hehe. I actually walked through it pretty quickly (about twenty minutes or so), getting Bronzes in most (which has always been good enough for me.. I'm just after the license, not the car) on my first try in many cases. And I think there's something wrong with the rally tests in Super... I totally dominated those, getting Gold by a very safe 3-4 seconds in both of them. Either I'm better than I think I am at rally (even though I don't much care for it), or those tests are waaaay too easy.

I shudder to think of what I'll see when I pop in GT1 next.

On the flip side, it's a fun way to hype up GT4, in a manner of speaking. By intentionally subjecting myself to the aliased, über-jaggy, 30fps, pitiful textures of PS1 GT's, I'm setting myself up to be even more blown away when I pop GT4 in in eleven days. :)

Same thing happened to me......I had put off buying a ps2 because of my roomate for 2 years had one....I recently moved before christmas and there were no ps2's to buy anywhere in the world ...so I pulled out the ol dusty ps1 and gt 2..ya I was braggin about how much of the game i had beaten and all the cars I had...wel when i started it up my garage was pathetic...maybe 60% completion... 3 licenses
....no drft cars ...at least it held me over untill the stores got ps2s in...
👍

I recently had a GT2 revelation as well. I'd forgotten all about it, but now I'm safely reunited with the second installment of Skyline Turismo.

i never finished the Tuned Races of GT1, but that's because I was a Viper freak and refused to cheat with a 900 hp Skyline or GTO. I wasn't as good at the reversed tracks, either. GT2 was also calling my name!

I haven't finished doing all the manufacturer's races in GT2, but that's mostly that's due to being a lot more interested in exploring all 600 of those cars! But i'm working on it. Eventually I'll have 100% on at least 1 of my memory cards.

I've completed 98.2% (finished in NTSC 1.0) on two games (1) and (4), but stand at about 60-80% on the other three games (2,5,6). The third game doesn't exist anymore, but I was about 40% complete when the save became corrupted. And my present game (7), isn't likely to get finished, as I'm playing GT1 again in preparation for GT4.

Just curious, why do you need to play GT1 ? wouldn't GT3 prepare you better for GT4 ?

Probably the same reason I am.. by purposefully subjecting myself to ancient PS1 technology, the leap to GT4 will be even more drastic. Enough to make me motion sick and piss myself in pure glee. :D

Manufacturers' Races Are So BO-OR-ORING
You got that right! :D I hate having to buy a car I don't want then tuning it and then racing it on (sometimes) the Test Track. (thats why I'm afraid to do the Midget Race :scared: ).

Not a bad idea! I think I'll play ol' GT2 for a few umm... minutes! before putting in GT4...
Yeah, the rally licence tests are a tad easy. Gold on the first try easy ;-).

I loaned my brother my copy of GT3. Ever since he was released from the hospital, he's had a lot of time at home until he's ready for work again. So he needed something to cure his boredom...

I've passed it a while back, and got bored. However, I'm rather thankful he's okay and playing GT3; I've tried for years to get him interested in the GT series.

In any case, I've spent less time with GT1 than the others.
