I just got my DFP today. First impressions:

I like it. It adds a cool sense of realism to GT4 that wasn't there with the DS2. I like the force feedback and the feel of cars at high speed with it. That said....... I suck with it.

My lap times are terrible, my drifting is even worse and I cant get used to fighting the wheel.

Its a cool addition to GT4. I just think the whole 900 degree turning radius takes some getting used to. We'll see how I feel in a few weeks.

Time to go play.

i bit the bullet, my friend had his forsale cheeply, so i got it.... i can not emphasise enough just how much better the game becomes with a wheel, such as the DFP or DF for that matter!! if you havnt got one, and have the money there, do yourself a favour and purchase one immediately.... i cannot tell you enough how much better it is!

I got some money and was looking at some on ebay. They have the df version for like half the price. The money doesnt matter all that much so which would you guys recomend.

Agreed. The DFP is the wheel to have for GT4, at least for anything remotely reasonably priced.

@ S30T - you'll get better with the wheel. In a couple weeks you'll wonder how you ever drove with a controller. One thing of highest importance, though: you must have a solid, comfortable place to mount the wheel and sit while driving. Otherwise, you'll spend too much time fighting the wheel itself. Look through the "cheap cockpit alternatives" thread for some ideas.

off the subject. but i love driving at high speeds with my "surround sound" on loud and when i start drafting, the wind just cuts aways and my car just starts to go faster and faster.:) anyways it's awesome!
