Now with the 812 superfast the number drops to 39. Assuming the z06 C5 isn't in another leaked list ( like the AM vantage '18).
The additional leak that had the Vantage and the R31 Skyline, excluding GT Sport leftovers, now has only one remaining car left that isn't also in the OP: The 1992 M2 1001 (the tuned NA MX-5).

So it's not worth thinking too hard about anymore.

OK. I'll have an " * " on this M2 1001 '92 in case it comes to gt7. Looks like a car with a good chance of coming.

Something probably not significant but rather more curious - the 812 Superfast in the update says it’s a 2017 but the datamine said it’s a 2019. Now this is probably more coincidental and not entirely relevant to what’s in the list but thought I’d point it out.
It’s probably more around the wish list vs model year availability and I would have to double check I don’t think there was any specific spec differences from the 2017 launch to the 2019 MY car. They sold so few (relatively)

There was a precedent for this - the Megane Trophy '11, first appearing in GT6, is internally named megane_trophy_09 (as it was the original plan for GT5).

I hope people are having more fun/enjoyment out of these update cars than I am over the last few years.
We are, thanks.

I had more fun with the Kangoo in 550pp Custom Sophy Races, than I ever had with any of the GT3 cars. Not to mention Rallying the Unimog, setting up Custom Races for only FWD cars (for the EF Civic), etc... Even the CX-30 is fun when fully tuned. There is much fun to be had with just about ANY vehicle in the game. I honestly think a lack of creativity is to blame for people not enjoying the updates. I've had a blast with every car released.... except for the Afeela. That thing can take a long drive off a short pier, for all I care.

I’ve been playing this game for over 25 years mate, making up races doing some crazy fun stuff, taking the weird cars round the ring.

I get it, you are at a different place to me in your GT journey.

My focus is on mastering the game and racing real people, but I’ve done 2 decades of just driving and tuning etc.

It’s horses for courses.

I am 45 years old, and have been playing Gran Turismo since the first game was released in 1997. It has nothing to do with being in a "different place to me in your GT journey". Having played the series for so many years, I have learned how to utilize what we have (as far as content) to get the most enjoyment out of the game. Whether that's playing online (overrated in my opinion), or utilizing the offline tools/events, it's about using your own creativity to make the game fun. Those who focus primarily on the online mode (and typically continuously pining for GT3 cars, and nothing else....) are welcome to that approach, but it's extremely limiting. If that's your focus, I can understand why the game seems lacking. As you said, different horses for different courses. You do you.

Fair point, but be open enough to understand that after so long the competition in actual racing against humans is more rewarding that than for the 25th year smashing the AI.

We are playing the same game but I want to be try to be better than my peers, you want to beat the AI and have fun. These are not cross purpose just different objectives and perspectives.

So how does the content of the updates of the last few years prevent you racing in sport mode?
It doesn’t prevent it, it just robs us all of better cars for late game longer single player races and new tracks.

So how does my opinion of the updates affect your playing of the game?

it’s easy to be a bit of a dick with these things. If you live the game so much what does my option of the multiplayer perspective have to do with what you want from the game??

A fair point, to be sure. However, you seem to be misunderstanding one aspect. Granted, I probably wasn't clear. I DO play online (S Rating, at least currently...lol). I just don't find it all that interesting, or even all that challenging (usually, that is). As I said, I think the GT7 online mode is overrated. I find creating races/race series, and dealing with the various online AI's (Sophy most of all) to be a more interesting challenge. Setting up vehicles and working out how to make the races competitive (tire wear/fuel use/tire choices/AI vehicle choices/etc... etc...) a more fulfilling experience than racing random people online over and over again, in the same 5 or 6 meta cars. To me, it's the online that is stale (i.e "boring"). I get where you are coming from. I really do. I just don't agree. To each their own. Luckily both are perfectly reasonable play styles. I'll just end with what I said at the start. Every update (and every car within it) can be enjoyed utmost with a bit of imagination. Even if online is your thing. I can remember a race between nothing but Toyota C-HR's (on a private server) that was 25 laps of close racing around Spa. Epic fun. With the right state of mind it's all gravy, baby. ;)

It doesn’t, never said it did

Again it doesn’t, I’m trying to understand how the type of car from the updates affects your goal of being better than your peers. Surely it doesn’t matter what you’re driving, if you’re racing against someone that’s the thrill whether it’s in a Suzuki carry or a m6 gt3, which being better than your peers is perfectly capable with the content at launch and updates we’ve had.

Racing is racing regardless of what you’re in. A new lineup of gr.3 cars isn’t going to change anything, they’ll be bop’Ed, look and sound different but the racing won’t change.
