I think it fair to expect we get some updates next year as well,
It will for sure been slow down for 2026, a reveal for gt8 some time fall of 2025 would not suprice me at all.

😁
Man, this strategy really didn’t worked out so well for Mazda😬
It’s a pity they didn’t realize the actually interesting concepts:/
But now I’m in for the M2 1001 in GT7, as it represents this weird part of Mazdas brand history😀

Thanks👍
Interesting, never heard of M2 before, but I for myself wouldn’t mind if they don’t add it. Even though it’s cool, we already have the touring version in the game
I hope they do.

It's a variant, sure, but it's a cool variant with history behind it that not many people remember, and that's enough for me to say it's worth preserving in the Japanese car history video game in a way that, say, an NA MX-5 that's just a different trim level wouldn't be.

I went through the IP credits in the game tonight (GT Menu -> Options -> About this Game -> Notice of Intellectual Property), because I was both bored and curious what that's on here shows up in there, if anything.

Most car brands are just listed as "X cars licensed by SIE", but there's specific credits for the following cars not in the game:
  • "Autobacs" "ARTA" and "Garaiya" are all separately credited in the same line
  • RUF CTR Yellowbird
  • Lamborghini Reventon (also a Murcielago SV, and Diablo GT and Diablo GT2, but I assume those are for GT Auto modifications of the Murcielago and Diablo GT1)
Unsurprisingly the track IP credits reveal nothing. Though not every track in the game is listed there - Watkins Glen, Spa and Laguna Seca are all missing.

I'd assume that the IP has expired on these tracks.

What is interesting is they are real world tracks, with RA and Watkins coming to the game.

Based on this alone when if we get a new track I would say it's a fictional one again.

No reason other than licensing seems to be a thing PD don't do and if they do on their terms.

Especially since they’ve just let the players build replicas of many cars with parts and livery editor. No doubt it saves money, but now they really don’t need to bother adding the amount of real race cars from past games.

Really excited to see this. We have old classics returning such as Skyline Silhouette and Escudo Pikes Peak*. But mostly I'm grateful for a bunch of Lotus cars coming up, considering the British sportscar maker was missing altogether.

And not sure witch car is refering to "eagle type 122". I think its either "eagle e-type" or "lotus evora type 122". Also unlikely to come.

I believe 'eagle' was the development name for the evora before it was announced

Discounting the Lotus cars, that’s still three cars per month plus one, for eleven months this year. Which, if GT7 is continuing for another three years, still gives time for one or two each month until then.

Great cars and all, but where will you race them? Against who? Against what? They need to add content that is worthy of their cars and tracks. Allow Sophy on custom races and enable Sophy grid races. This could go a long way.
Cars are not this games problem I agree.

More the format of the race setup is horrific and let's be brutally honest we aren't driving all 400 cars in the game anyways....

We also don't want this game to turn into a GT3 racing game (and I say that as a sports car fan)
It's definitely not doing that with GT3 race cars that haven't been updated and span nearly 20 years (excluding the odd balls) the most recent GT3 car is the Merc and that's a 2020 model.

So you can sleep easy.....

But road cars that I use day to day and my history. The lack of modern race cars is fairly frustrating to say the least.

Each to their own, but my time is focused on online racing so modern race cars would be welcome for ME everyone's mileage varies on these things.

None for this next month.
We are getting the hyundai ioniq 5 and maybe the new formula car in january update. There is one more entry (potentially two) to be filled.

I have my doubts on how will they treat the lancia 037 rally car, because if it goes to gr.b, it will be the first non 4wd car in there. Dont know if they will go for that. Probably they will just class it has race car.
