Hey guys. Don't know if you've ever discussed this, but I finnally had a 1971 240ZG pop up in the Nissan lot. Especially cool since I own a 1970 in real life. Anyone here have one? Fully tricked it'll spank all over the Race Shelby Cobra coupe :D

What color? I've found maroon to be the toughest to find.

Both are maroon actually, (one stock one tricked.) I'm wating to see if there's a red one like my Z, or at least some other color ;)

I think there is a gameshark code somewhere for colours. Apart from of course changing the car´s color something about being able to retain the original colour even with racing mods. Not very acurate though.

The racing mod is historically accurate, but it doesn't stop it from being ugly!

The 240Z comes in "Grand Prix White","Grand Prix Red", and "Maroon". No blue, strangely enough, one of the most common early Z colors I can think of. I guess the ZG version was different than the rest, and was limited.

Fun car to mess with in GT2, I must say.

You know, I've found my favorite road cars in GT2 to have the worst racing mods.

I'll suffer a few pounds of weight to watch replays without hurting my eyes.

Nha I couldn´t do that. Every car just has be tip top - If there´s a racing mod gotta do it. Still the 240Z is a sad case. What I miss the most are those beautiful front lights that sadly "disappear" with the racing mod.

But enough of that; the 240Z is one cool car rivaling with the 2000GT and cornering better than most 90´s cars. In final analisys the 240Z takes the lead over the 2000GT being no wonder since a thing so ugly had to be running from something.

Kidding - not that ugly, just ugly - tried some rims to mask it a bit :irked: No success

Yeah, the disappearing headlights are a shame, because it's always been one of the most uinique styling cues of the original Z. Removing the lights makes the car look odd.

The 240ZG was the special japanese market version, also known as the "Fairlady Z" (you might remember this as the name of the 300ZX in GT 1). Notice the fender-mounted mirrors, headlight covers, and the spoiler? Only Fairlady Z's had these. I think they were also a little faster than the U.S. version. But, for some reason, it looks a LOT worse than the U.S. market version:( .

Here's some classic Nismo cars in action again:

As you can see by this pic, the 240Z's race mod...is still ugly.

{ I think they were also a little faster than the U.S. version. }

The Japanese market 240Z was actually rated at less HP than the US, around 130-140 compared to 150... Anywo, it did, however, have a DOHC engine vs the US market's, (like my 240Z), SOHC. in which the DOHC responds better to mods...

Cool pics :D

icandigit,
Newbie here, and I'm still runnin the GT2 on the PS1....
with over 55million in credits Ive ran across the 71' 240zg too many times;I keep a race mod & a OEM in the garage. This is the funny part and also the reason why I'm still runnin PS1 .... stock control stinks and table top steering wheels suck, but the trigger module ( yea the cheap one) work the best, sort of like driven a RC car. Back on topic.... whenever I switch gear ratio in the race tranny, my HP is boosted to 1400 !!!! Crazy ain't it, but true. I believe its the trigger controller causing ...... whatever the deal my Z is hands down the fastest car in the system

top speed - n/a .... ran out of tranny gearing at 255 mph
hp 1400+

... and it peels out in 1-4 gears :irked:

? anybody else have this problem;)

Hey man, how's the Z going? Anything new? I'm gonna get my hands on a BRE style spoiler soon, and a front airdam should compliment the Zed nicely

I'm gonna get some Sparco 4-point harnesses and a fire extinguisher. Soon I'm going to start working on the interior (shudder!). Everything is pretty much trashed in there. When I got it, the previous owner ( who obvoiusly had no taste) had a carpet dash liner and a plastic dash liner on the dash, which is extremely cracked and covered in some unidentifiable orange substance :yuck:! Also, he had pasted blue carpet on the plastic panels and vinyl in the hatch area. The seats have almost completely disintigrated, so I am going to replace them with some racing seats, or re-upholster them. I might put on an ANSA exaust, but other than that, I plan on keeping the exterior and engine pretty much stock.
