The Datsun 240ZG 2.4 GTU is a racing version of the Datsun 240Z. It was used in the IMSA GT Racing series in the GTO/U class. There are 2 engines used. The 2.4 litre I6 is used in the GTU car while the 2.6 litre I6 is used in the GTO car.

Specifications:
Power: 276BHP
Weight: 1043KG
Drive: FR
Top Speed: 250 KM/H

The 240Z started racing in 1970, in the C Production championship and the IMSA GTU. During April 1976 the first IMSA GTU Z was destroyed in a crash at Road Atlanta. The 1975 C Production car, therefore, had to be quickly converted to the same specifications as the GTU car for the next 2 rounds in California. In 1982 the 240Z won it's first ever IMSA GTO Championship title.

OP has been updated with detailed specs and some history about the car.

Hold on, this has to actually the GTO car as only that class had widebody fenders whereas GTU only had minor body modifications.

Do you happen to have any images of the GTU car then? I've tried searching "240Z IMSA GTU" but all that comes up is this car or the same car with different liveries.

When I wrote that post, the GTU car I was looking for looked totally different from this. However after more research, turns out this IS a GTU but from a different year. My mistake, just threw me off.
