Hello all, remeber me? Good. Anyways, I said I would host a weekly race....and I am finally bored enough to do just that. So, it's just a race, there isn't any points or complex submission forms. Just your time. That's it, easy enough, eh? You can re-submit times if you bettered your old one.

First race-

Track: High Speed Ring
Car: Vector M12
Mods: All mods except for any horsepower modifiers
Tuning: NO tuning allowed. All mods only.

This race is more of a skill race than a settings race, and this is a VERY fun car/track combo. So get on it!

I'm in, but...

What do you mean by no tuning/all mods only?
Does that mean no suspension changes?

So I can add a flywheel, but obviously no ROM chip, eh?

Alright, here goes a stock M12 around HSR.

Bone-stock, right off the dealer's lot:

0:59.572

Tell me we can make a tranny change, right? I rarely got out of 3rd gear!

dave.. im sorry to say.. but your stupid as hell for not making it so u can tune the suspension.. if u were going to say no tuning u might as well have just told them to leave it stock.. sheesh..

The ****'s your problem Candy, never said you had to race in it....but no, he's Candy, he must participate in every damned race and embaress us with his oh-so-fake times. WTF's wrong with no tuning? Have you even TRIED it? Jesus, it's not like a stock Elise GT1 (which 1:06 on SSR5 is bull****), it won't spin out every turn. It's a more fair race this way, oure driving skill, what the hell is so bad about that?

And for everyone else- you can buy every upgrade you want (including suspension, brakes, tires, flywheel, tranny, etc). The only mods you CAN'T DO are ones that affect your horsepower. Also, you can tune the transmission, but that's it.

I don't see why anyone could get upset about this, it's a good challenge that forces people to use their skills. Who cares if we can't tweak the settings, this is more fun. Here's my time.

54.977

It's best flying lap. You can take as many laps as you want to achieve this.

I'm at 54.732......I need to fiddle with my suspension some more.

And Candy, don't race, because I'm just SURE you'll win.

I think it's just to make things fare for guys who don't know or don't understand how to modify the suspension's.

A well tuned suspension can drop 8 or so seconds off places like High Speed Ring, and even 12 sec's off of places like Deep Forest.

Wait, hold on a second.

We CAN tweak suspension? Goodness I'll have to actually get it off the stock settings now. Hold up I'll be back later with a new time.

Okay, I get it now. And the M12 is fairly stable for an MR car on bankings, understeers a bit in stock form, though. Nice choice.

I shall have a time in a few hours, web projects first.

Okay, a little break.

Best: 54.863

Not the best, but I have to rate that as one of my smoothest laps of all time at HSR.

ARGHHHHHHHHH.

Sorry for the confusion here people. You CAN'T tune the suspension. I meant to say transmission in that post....This topic is so confusing, lol. Sorry again.

53.812 (to my recollection)
and approx. 173-4 mph

I always post this stuff at work and have a hard time remembering the decimals. It might be more like 53.5XX. I'll have to check when I get home.

and then beat it!

Ok everyone, Pupik gave me an idea. You can, in addition to posting times, post suggestions of races you want to do. So if you don't like the previous car/track combo (God forbid ;) ) then you can suggest what you like.

And remember, times are due on Saturday at 8:00 Eastern (US) time. It's hard to figure out what time we need to turn things in, so I figured I'd just use Eastern time for it, because it's easiest for me. It's almost 4:00 PM here, so add/subtract that to whatever your time is to find the difference.

:D

Let's PM the car/trak suggestions to Davey? Otherwise, we'll sink this thread like a rock; nobody new will understand what's going on. May I also suggest that a new thread get started when appropriate.

And I couldn't better my time at HSR with the M12...an extra 25-some laps didn't help matters.

Ok, I'll institute the suggestions next week. All suggestiuons should be sent to me via private messaging. I'll make a new topic for each weekly race.
