My family has had this car since 2004, when bought used with 30k miles on it. Since then, we've only put another 25k miles on it, and the only thing we've really changed about it was the back bumper/trunk(rear-ended), witch is a good thing because the trunk automatically lifts now, and the rims/tires.
Well, I guess you should also know that this was my 1st personal car at 16, and I would say i like it, not love it.
Obviously not a performance car in any way, delivering 163 hp while weighing 3300 LB. The car handles great, compared to other cars i've driven. You have to put in more turning power than other cars because the steering wheel is "stiff", but other than that anything suspension wise is fine.
Through 1st and 2nd gear, the car is slowwww. Once it hits 3rd gear(~33 mph) it flies off. 0-60 time around 6.7 seconds, and the car automatically rolls to a stop if your going under 10 mph, and it handles better going 85 than it does 35.
Interior room, well, if small. Small car, less room. Makes sense. I feel like this car was made to be driven by a 5'7" person, not a 6'0" guy who is going to grow another 3 inches.

edit- oh, and his name is Sterling
2nd edit- It says 16.5 MPG, but over the past 3k miles or so it averages 18.2 on premium gas. So it's not fantastic, but it's not too bad either.

Nice car ;).
I too drive a 2002 Mercedes-Benz (S600). How's your interior? Does it include COMAND? And I'm assuming yours has a 6-Speed?

The M112 (E26) is still a big engine, a 2.6L V6 is plenty for a first car :).

Looking forward to the other photos :)👍.

The interior is black leather, which makes it very hot living in Texas... got my windows tinted as a christmas gift and that made somewhat of a difference. At least it has the best A/C ever. Oh, and I have a yellow tree air freshner thing in it

I'm not sure what COMAND was until i googled it, so i'm assuming you mean like GPS and stuff? Then no, it doesn't. Although it has steering wheel functions(volume, phone(which isn't equipped) data from car like MPG) which is pretty convienent.

The transmission is auto, and i'm really not sure if it's 5 or 6 speed. :odd:

If it's auto, it's a 5 speed. The 7 speed was only introduced after the 2004 facelift, and the 6 speed was strictly manual :).

COMAND is the central entertainment unit built into the dashboard (which did include GPS), it isn't necessary for the use of the in-car phone, though. If you're interested in getting the phone working, consider grabbing the V60 Bluetooth Adapter. I must warn you though, it can get kind of expensive :yuck:...

Looking to do any major modifications to it (performance or otherwise)?

I probably won;t be needing bluetooth for a while, I answer maybe 4 phone calls a week, lol. I'm not stupid enough to drive while texting or anything like that, and it suprises me that the people who do do that can barely walk and text at the same time.
Anyways, back on topic...the only thing I see myself modding in the immediate future is upgrading the headlights. I'm not sure if the lights themselves suck, or the blurry headlight covers change everything, but it is so hard to drive at night in that car compared to others. The only other thing i want to change is maybe bumping the HP up to 200, and increasing engine response when I put the throttle down. If I put it down too far too fast it takes like 4 seconds to do anything and that bothers me...

Nice first ride. The headlights can be an easy fix with some mothers headlight restoration and 6000k HIDs. Just to bad it's not the 6speed, that would rectify your response problem.

Rest of pictures uploaded.
And thanks for the complements/suggestions. @Bobby, I planned on just putting in the xenon headlights, mainly because I love the cyan color that comes out, plus I know they give off a ton more light.
