Deutsche Touring Car Meistersharft?! What da hell how do I do this race

People I've been trying to win this race, I can't even pass the first track with the Mercedes CLK Touring car. I can barely beat Audi TT Touring car aswell(which is 5th place infront of me)! Whats going on! My SLK has 1000kg and 802BHP and Im cornering well and not hitting any walls, using proper gear changed etc. etc.
Does anybody know how to pass this championship or what car is good to use to beat them? I just can't seem to catch them even using NOS (believe it or not)

I used the stock Opel Astra and didn't have any problems with the series. Even my b-spec guy can win with the Astra but I have to help him out with the turbo upgrade. The only down side to the Astra is you have to buy it for $550k I think but winning the series once and selling the prize car pays out almost $900k so its a good deal.
