Developing B-Spec Drivers?

I've just started out on B-spec mode and really don't enjoy it, but am doing it because it is part of the game. My first driver is at Level 5 and I've just earned another driver. Is it better to develop one driver and give them all of the XP or try to spread it out equally between all drivers? Maybe it doesn't make a difference, but if their XP come into play down the road I don't want to screw myself because I only used one driver.

I am in pretty much the same position as you are, except both of my drivers are level 8. In terms of progression ive got to a point now where neither driver can win in a race. Its hugely frustrating everytime you get him into a position to overtake all he does is brake and fall in behind the leading car. i am now going to concentrate with my best driver as i think i would rather have one good driver rather than 2 mediocre drivers. what i will do later is get some inexperienced drivers into some enduro's so that they earn a lot of experience in a relatively short space of time compared to grinding with 2 or more drivers that are crap.

Well I'm up to level 36 and I can tell you filling the experience bar is not good. Ideally when you start a new driver (your second or third) you want to throw them into the highest level races with overpowered cars and level them up quickly without adding to the experience bar too much. Once your Bobs experience bar is full he will need retiring as they get slower and slower.

Anyway dont worry about it because once you're a high level starting new driver and leveling them up will only take a handfull of races.

My experience has been that you basically end up with multiple drivers At the same level due to the pre race emotion engine. Red arrow down, green side or blue up. Usually forces me to use them all equally. Or at least prevents me from using one all the time. It's cool though. Forces you to evaluate their talents to see the difference between them and there is a difference it seems to me. Kind of lame that they top out and get slower. Have not seen that yet.

I've got 2 drivers that I try to alternate between. A hot headed guy who is currently at level 20 and a cool headed guy who is level 23. I've just unlocked the endurances races though so needed to create 2 more drivers. Did that and entered them both in the PD Cup once each using the X1 and it got them all the way up to level 9. Will enter them both the the Dream Car Championship aswell I think in the same car and that should really increase their level. They should be ok for the endurance races then.

All 4 of my drivers have got blue arrows at the minute aswell!!!

Well, all 4 of my drivers had blue arrows yesterday and today, after doing just the Dream Car Championship to level up one of my new drivers, I've now got 3 out of my 4 on orange arrows

Just use the one driver. Once you start races that allow a second driver (namely, enduros), you can put a brand new driver in one race and he'll come out of the other side at 11+.

EDIT: Just because a race says 2, 3, or 4 drivers, it doesn't mean that you are required to enter that many. It is a limit, not a minimum. You could put one driver only on a 24hr race and still win by 100+ laps (if he's in the X2010, of course!)

Your best bet is to level up one hot-headed driver from level 0 to level 25. His mood doesn't really matter. You're better off using a level 16 driver with a down arrow than trying to pick between two level 11 drivers based on their arbitrary mood. Skill wins out over mood every time.

You should create new drivers every time you are permitted, because team drivers gain on their silver experience bar, even if they aren't entered in the race. However, you shouldn't bother entering a second driver in a race until you get to the endurance races.

I agree with the first paragraph here.

The second paragraph, while correct, isn't the proper advice. Yes, if you create a driver his Experience/Career bar will go up even if he doesn't race. But, you don't want that. Once that bar is full your driver starts getting WORSE and should be retired.

My advice is to only create one full-hot driver until you get to the endurance races. At that point you can create your other 5 and they will level up very quickly with minimal Experience/Career bar.

You already do not enjoy it ? Hmm it is a long road ahead.

- There are no problems using one driver throughout, fwiw my bob's mood was slightly in the red. Sharing XP does not seem to do anything productive and it is easy to level up a new bob later in the game, eg virgin bob goes to level 30 in one 24hr Le Mans as a co-driver.
- Ignore mood swings and strength meters.
- Understand that Bob is slower than you and requires higher spec'd machinery.
- Some races require coaching, especially in the early events, and few need to be watched throughout (eg Nascar) but many do not (most importantly the Endurance races).
- Always set pit strategy to auto.

And now... the real pain in the *** which kills Bspec as a form of enjoyment for many .... to complete Bspec you need to:
- win 127 event races, this takes about 250 races including grinding to open up events .... a lot of grinding, and
- maximise a career bar, this take 500 Bspec days. (see separate thread for more information).

So that is a minimum of 127 event races with trophies + 373 grinding races to complete Bspec (the quickest way would include about 2 weeks worth of 24hr races).

Good luck, fortunately I finish Bspec tomorrow.

P.S There are lots of threads about what events to grind, best XP rates etc.

Hi there, im new to this forum and was wondering.. What happens if I leave my Bobs to just race in the endurance races? Will they run of fuel? What setting do I have to use to get my Bob to pit automatically so I can sleep? I have just unlocked endurance races and no thread really answers this question i dont think... (I have skimmed through 5pages of threads) :(

You're exaggerating. I've done exactly ONE(1) 24hr event and I'm halfway between 39 and 40. Just run 9hr races when you're sleeping or away at work/school/whatever, and you'll be fine. The only reason to run multiple 24hr races is because you are trying to get to level 40 as quick as possible and don't mind giving up use of your PS3. I was at 35 less than two weeks ago.

The point of my post was that this is the minimum you have to do to complete Bspec (not just reach level 40), and it focussed on minimum number races, when I meant time as well.

I will go back and re-word as c250 of the 500 races are for grinding to get the AoE trophy only and of course those 250 grinding races could be any race; a 2m 30s Sunday cup at Tsukuba or a Tsukuba 9hr endurance.
