Development cost of GT Sport

Considering it took them almost 4 years to make GT Sport with Online Structure the main thing and a car,track,modes,etc created from scratch what could be the development cost of this game?

Considering biggies like God of War,Uncharted, Horizon cost close to 50 million, is 20 Million the estimate cost of GT Sport?

My guess would be closer to $80million. We know directly from Kaz that the development cost of GT5, 1 year before release and 8 years ago, was $60 million. At the time it was one of the most expensive games ever produced. It was 4 years from GT6 to GTS release and with nearly 200 staff now, the staffing costs alone are probably close to 8 figures annually, far higher than the annual cost 8 years ago when the staff was variously quoted as 110-130.

Do not underestimate the GT brand. It is a huge title for Sony. Yeah, racing games are a little more "niche" than other games and sim racers even more so but GT has been a leading title on PS for a very long time and I'm sure has both the cost and budget to match.

I agree only partially. We don't know how much of the cost of GT Academy was going to the expense books of the GT5 and GT6.
There were far more licenses on those days too.

We can't know the specifics without taking a look at the books, but the staffing costs alone would put the budget into the stratosphere. I'd still put my money on $60-80Mill.

Wow 60 -80 million. I thought racing games cost less to make. Surprised.
