Hey,
I'm new here and got the game one christmas with the DFGT.

I started drifting ,today(Using a controller.)
My first drift car was my 370z.( I didn't like it to much.)
Then I got the Silvia s15 race mod.( I like it alot with the controller)

Now get this with the DFGT I can't drift I ether spin-out or I just don't turn enough.

By the way I don't use manuel. I use Automatic.

Can someone help me or tips.

Thanks,
Anthony.

First of all; you need to search the these forums; there are countless thread about people wanting to learn to drift. Put in the effort and yyou will be rewarded!

Second; you need to switch to manual. Drifting with automatic is a no-go. I would almost say; impossible.

For the rest; find one car; stick with it. Find one track; stick with it. get a tune from the tunes thread if you want but my advice would be drift it stock with a full LSD, untill you feel you need something done.. Then check the tuning threads..

I have a tuned Silvia S15 Race mod. Its tuned from the tuning section.
Then if I have to switch to manual, all I need to do is.
Is go down a gear, middle of the drift you shift up and hold the gas(or just tap it) and hold the control of your car? I could do this with a control pretty well. But, I need to learn it on the DFGT.

Just keep at it. If you have an internet connection go online and practice with others; there are loads of "drift practice" lobbys; especially on tsukuba cirquit.

if all else fails; add me. If you have a mic that is. i cant yeach you much by typing.

I'll add you and Yes, I have a mic.
People are telling me to start using the controller first.
And where is the best place to place the Shifter in the controller for it to be easiest as possible.

I couldn't drift with the DFGT because it take so LONG just to steer the thing.

I returned it and got another DS3.

I heard that you need more practice with the DS3 Controller.
Because, you need to learn the basics in drifting, if you move directly to DFGT well, you will have minor problems at controlling and shifting your car.
You need to start with a DS3, which is what I'm doing and I'm doing currently really well.

If you can drift decent on controller I suggest practicing the wheel as soon as possible. All of those practice hours might as well go to what you would like to use most. I too got the DFGT on Christmas and Im just now understanding whats going on. As my friend always tells me, pay close attention to what your front wheels are doing, as well as what direction theyre pointing. You want to fight against the FFB so its always resisting, if the wheel goes completely loose than most likely your front wheels have lost all traction and it will be very difficult to get a controlled drift. Try to countersteer far enough that your fighting the resistance, use tiny steering inputs and work the throttle accordingly. Remember, its all in what your front wheels are doing.

Aint that the truth right thurr!!

practice my friend !! I remember when I started took me like 2-3 weeks of intense playing to get the hang of it !! Don't give up once you get it you'll love it ( might be frustrating at first ) at least it was for me haha
