I'm trying to decide which wheel to buy. i found the DFP new for 60$ at factory direct, but i need to know if the DFP will be as good a the DFGT.

anyone with experience with the two wheels, please tell me how well it works with GT5: Prologue.

The DFGT is the newer one, and being more expensive it should be better. As far as I can tell from photos, the pedals and wheel housing are the same, but the wheel itself is bigger, and has the real-time adjustment buttons and dial. The DFP is alright, the noise it makes can be annoying though, and the pedals are far too light. Also the sequential gearstick makes stupid clicking sounds as you change gear, and the SMG-style 'paddles' on the back of the wheel are tiny buttons.

I have a DFP but want a GT, but can't justify spending the money on it especially if the DFGT still makes the screaming noise... Oh and I don't think the GT is out yet so I'm not sure many people can compare the two.

In short, you can't go wrong with either wheel, but when it comes to GT5P, the DFGT responds a little better.

I have both the DFP and the DFGT. In my experience with both wheels, the DFGT does indeed work better with GT5P. The DFP works fine with GT5P, but you don't get the 'on the fly' setting changes that you can do with the DFGT. The DFGT wheel is a bit larger than the DFP; 11 inches to be exact. I think the DFP is 9 and a half or 10 inches. When I use the DFGT, it feels more precise when I steer.

In regards to the force feedback, I don't know if its just me, but the DFP responds great in GT5P, however the DFGT responds even better than the DFP. I was thinking about selling my DFP, but found that in other games like, F1:CE, the DFP is better than the DFGT. You can't go wrong with either wheel for GT5P.

Hi,

I was about to upgrade my DFP to a Driving Force GT, but I mainly play F1CE. What makes the DFP better than the Driving Force GT in F1CE ?

Thanks. :)

There is a huge difference between DFP and DFGT.

I was first assured by Logitech about the difference, then confirm it myself by taking both apart and compare it side by side for my review.

Well just to quote myself, LOL, I received my DFGT this morning from Logitech. I bought it mainly for F1CE. Well not sure where to start but the wheel is too big for F1CE, it feels as though I am driving a bus compared to the DFP. The DFP is definately more suited to the F1 game. Something perhaps I can get used to but the biggest disappointment to me is that the wheel does not lock at 200 Degrees like the DFP does for F1CE. So I have to judge when to stop turning the wheel around hairpins. :dopey: Oh and yes it doesn't feel like the DFP at all, it's completely different.

Anyway's I have yet to try GT5P, and other games so I shall be comparing all week end with various other titles. 👍

And noise? The only thing stopping me buying a DFGT is the noise it may or may not make in comparison to the DFP.

keep in mind that the dfgt whas made especially for gran turismo...so the fact that is doesnt compute with f1ce is not a surprise really....
im sure that in a future f1 game(yes it will come soon)the dfgt will be much more of a match than with f1ce....

spyrrari.

Hi Yes, However I believe the DFP was also designed for GT4 in mind but works well with F1CE. Don't get me wrong, the DFGT is a good wheel, I just don't like the fact it does not lock at 200 Degress. If it locked at 200 Degrees like the DFP then game on. Maybe there is a button combination that will allow that. 👍

True, but when F1CE was being developed they would have coded it to work with the DFP properly, however, at the time the DFGT was not out yet, so they wouldn't have added that to their compatable wheels list.

Hence why it works, but does not lock like the DFP.

Yes correct but the DFP locks at 200 Degrees by default on the the main PS3 XMB Screen before you even launch any game. The DFGT locks at 900 Degress by default.

Whilst using the DFP press SELECT + R3 + RIGHT PADDLE, and toggle between 200 Degree and 900 Degree Lock. I wonder if there is such a combination for the DFGT ?
