DFP center position shifted

Hi guys and girls, I've looked around and found no related help, please would someone shed some light on this problem I'm experiencing with my DFP. I've had the wheel for just over a year, and its been used in conjuction with GT4 for just over 1400 game days now. Recently I've noticed that my wheel isn't centering where it suppose to. for example its driving straight with the wheel pointing at a bizzare angle, at an angle for turning to be exact. The wheel is centered at neutral after calibration everytime I start the game, or re-plug the wheel. but sometimes when I steer slightly quicker in catching a drift or quick turning, the wheel is centered wrongly. This also happens when my car crashes into the boundaries, so when i get back on the track, the steering angle is totally messed up. The only way I have found to cure this is by re-pluging the wheel everytime or just drive through a few more corners when the wheel recognises the neutrual steering angle again.

I want to know if this is a defect in the product, or is it a mechanical fault that I can repair, because I don't think its out of the warranty period already.

Thanks for any help provided.

An honest answer...

Your wheel is getting old

Thanks Mr Deap, you've spoken the word, I guess I have no choice but to hang on to it until GT5 and hopefully a new Logitech wheel comes out.

I'd call Logitech and tell them what you've told us! The worst they can say is no, but I've heard of several people being sent new DFPs under warranty to replace their faulty ones.
