DFP Issue

I don't exactly know how to say this and still being very clear about the problem, but I will try my hardest. I got my DFP around April, and it was working fine for a few months, until I got a different game and just blew off GT4. So one day I decided to pop GT4 in, all was well, the DFP calibrated (sp?), so I was thinking "right on I'm gonna get to play this awesome game again." When I got to the main screen in GT Mode, I wanted to pick a different car. I press the X button, but nothing happens. I press it again and it finally goes into my garage. I think "OK, maybe just a little hicup from not using it in awhile." I go to select my car, and you know thise controllers that have the Auto-Setting where you can just lay on the button and it will act as if you are pressing the button repeditly, well that's what the wheel was doing, it seemed like an auto-setting has been put on my DFP. It skips a couple cars and yjrm finslly stops on a car. Note that I press the button once. Now, once I go into a race the wheel DOES NOT work at all. None of the buttons work, except for start, the pedals don't work, I turn the wheel, but the car does not respond. I'm guessing that inside the DFP is dirty, but I'm afraid to take it apart because I did not get my wheel through Logitech, but from a company that takes the wheels from Logitech that are refurbished and all the serial numbers are crossed out. Once again sorry if this is confusing, but I did try to explain it as good as I could. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't help you with your problem but you might want to take a look in this thread. It seems that he has the same problem.
DFP problem, click, clack.

Use the search button and you wouldn't have to make a new thread. :)

I did use the search feature, but came with nothing of my problem. That thread is totally irrelavent to my problem because he wasn't able to use his DFP on the menu screens, where I can still navigate with it. I did try with GT3, and it worked, except for the brake pedal, which is what I'm thinking is the problem with my DFP and GT4 not calibrating it correctly. I did notice the 'Pedal Solution' thread just below this one, and that is what I will refer to now. Thanks for the help though.

Edit: OK So I loaded GT4 just now WITHOUT the pedals plugged in. It calibrated fine, and was not skipping every other car I tryed to select. Now, before I go on, when I would enter a race, right at the beginning I would lose all power and I would not be able to do anything with the wheel except press start. Anyways i went into a race and ALAS, I was able to steer my car. Thinking that the problem might have been fixed, I plugged in my pedals, and I wouldn't move anywhere, I had no resistance, which before I did when I first started. So it is my pedals that are the problem. I will call Logitech tomorrow to see how much it would cost to get a new set of pedals for this thing, or I'll see if I can figure out the problem.

If it's a pedal problem (as you think) then there is a solution. Almost everybody, including me, had problems with the pot meters of the pedals. I called logitech and they've send me new pedals, with the new pot meters. I haven't had any problems since then. I going to try and find a link for you. But if the pedals are the problem, the best thing for you to do is, like you already mentioned, to call logitech and explaine them what is wrong with you pedals. If logitech doesn't give you new pedals, maybe you can find a solution in this tread.

I hope this will help:

you see, doing a search eally helps.;)
