Hey guys, my DFP has officially decided to stay locked in 200 degree mode. The problem is rather simple, when I do the unlock code, or I try to recalibrate it, the wheel's locks go off twice. They unlock and then relock instead of just unlocking. It does this every time I start up GT4. I'm assuming that at this point all I can do is open it up and try to manually unlock it. Can anyone guide me through this process?
Also I have searched through previous threads and nothing came up with an answer for this problem. I repeat, I have tried the unlock code multiple times to try and unlock this, but everytime the unlock code unlocks and relocks it rather than just unlocking.
Ok! I found the issue, it looks fixable only because one the microchip that tells the steering wheel about the lock had snapped in half, probably from being a little too rough on the steering wheel. Well, I'm thinking I can just take out the lock all together, because the steering wheel believes the lock is still functioning. It shouldn't matter too much so long as i don't go play other games with 200 degree steering. Someone give me some advice. The steering wheel still functions, but the lock chip is snapped in two. It might be possible to super glue it together and resauder the 2 places it sends currents through.
Another edit: Nope, taking out the lock doesn't work, it still wants to believe it's in 200 degree mode. That chip is annoying, I had it working in 900 degree mode for just a moment but then it decided to take that back and switch itself around.
