Okey, i've surfed a bit since my DFP was not working for my PS3 when i wanted to play GT4 (GT HD worked..) and found this:
The PS3 ports are made for specific accessories, even though the sixxaxis controller USB works everywhere. PS3 PORT 1 (the one most left)IS ASSIGNED TO WHEELS[/B
Step by step guide:
1. make sure your PS3 is turned off
2. connect your DFP wheel to the LEFT port.
3. turn on PS3. the wheel should calibrate one time.
4. do NOT assign sixxaxis controllers (don't push the PS button)
5. start GT4. the wheel should calibrate one more time (you can connect the controllers after that)
6. Enjoy!
I have checked with other ports, and my wheel did not work with them. I qoute: "Port 3 might also work, but very few times)
Hopes this helps all you who have trouble with it
Again, I did NOT find this solution on my own, internet helped a lot
