DFP rubber wear

So I finally bought a used (good as new) DFP to play GT4.
However I notice when I play for about 1 hour my hands are full with the rubber grip stuff on the steering wheel, is this normal?
If it is, what is there to do against it?

You just need to keep your hands from getting all sweaty because the rubber sticks to your hands. It will wear out after time but by then there will probable be the ulimate wheel that you could buy.

"DUCT TAPE" God's gift to all things mechanical. Or you could try cleaning your wheel with alcohol (not the drinking type) the one for cuts. I have an old Thrustmaster NASCAR Pro Force Feedback that leaves this on my hands and the alcohol helps a lot. Note: I now use a G25 wheel.

RAWHIDE!! You old enough to remember that show. At least I don't have to worry about the paddle shifters. I think that I broke the ones on my old Thrustmaster about a dozen times, got real good at taking that wheel apart and fixing it. It was a nice wheel for it's time still works on my PC but not on the PS3.
