I would lile to hear some of your experiences with those two wheels:) I have both and have had a hard time getting used to DFGT from DFP.
DFGT is defently better to catch slides with and drift (FFB feels "faster"), but on DFP I felt like I got more feedback on grip. Some of my top 10 TT times I cant even get near :scared:
So is it anyone else that has gone from DFP to DFGT out there? Would like to hear your experiences and if you are slower or faster after you got DFGT :) Have a good day 👍

And sorry if a simular thread is here already, cant get the search function to work from my ps3 :(

I always felt when moving from DFP to G25 that the feel in the older DFP was much better.. 👍 And no one seemed to believe me at the time.. :D (I still think the same)

I have the opposit...i have a much better experience with the DFGT wheel when it comes to "feel"....guess it is maybe a personal ..eeehhh "feel-ing"...

I do always have the FFB on my DFGT on max...maybe that makes a difference?...

spy.

I will try FFB on 10 tonight spy ;) But I think my 3 hour sessions is going to be tough with so strong FFB

Timppaq: Good to see there are other people who had the same feeling as me, how long before you got your speed back? I have not tried g25 though :(

**** I have both and have had a hard time getting used to DFGT from DFP. ****

I don't have a wheel at the present time because I sold my DFP about a year ago. I liked the DFP and I used it effectively for several years, but I got to the point where I was really annoyed by how loud it was, or how much noise it made towards the end.

Prior to selling it, I asked about the DFGT in a thread somewhere on this forum, and some of the responders told me that it did not make nearly as much noise as the DFP. I hope that that is the case, because I plan to get a DFGT when GT5 comes out. I guess I should have asked if the feel/response was different between the two wheels. I suppose that I'll find out the hard way.

DFGT is much more quiet :) And a smoother ride. And for its price its more then worth it!

I still drive with my trusty DFP... :P I borrowed a G25 for a while from a friend too... Was a huge difference and I think my only gripe in the end, is the size of the wheel (which is a bit larger on the DFGT). After playing with the G25 for a while I noticed that the DFP is a really small diameter wheel. And getting use to that again was a bit of a bumpy road with a lot of moments with sore hands from gripping it so tight... When GT5 comes out I'm still on the fence a bit about which wheel to get, G25orG27 vs DFGT.... This is because I think I will not use the manual and clutch at all since Im so much faster with the paddles... then again driving with a manual every now and then would also be nice, just for kicks.... So yeah.. I still have some deciding to do... I do hear good things about the DFGT as well though...

I've got a DFGT and I'm very happy with it although I don't have anything to compare it to. My brother got a logitech wheel off ebay a while ago that seemed a bit naff so he got rid pretty quick although it was mounted on a low table so that didn't help, not sure what it was though. Even with my wheel stand pro I can't really drift in GT5P...actually I can't drift at all  Hopefully that will improve in the not too distant future after many many hours practice on GT5 :D

Good thread Mr Volcano. I've currently got the DFP, but seriously considering upgrading to the DFGT for GT5, so will be following this with interest.

Are you able to race some of your own ghosts that you did with the DFP, and if so where do you seem to loose the time ?

This is VERY relevant to my interests. I have a DFP which I bought a few weeks after getting my copy of GT4. It still works flawlessly, but lately I've been inclined to buy a DFGT for GT5's coming. I've heard nothing but good things about this wheel (apart from the usual easily fixed pedal problem). Any more input anyone experienced with both wheels can share would be greatly appreciated.

I find the DFGT to be a much better wheel. The dead zone is a lot smaller (I don't even notice it, but then I never noticed the DFP dead zone until after I got my DFGT), the larger wheel diameter is a lot more comfortable to drive with and the extra buttons are very handy. It took a day or two to get used to the change but it was totally worth it.

I have owned both, and the DFGT is hands down the better wheel in just about every way.

The FFB is smoother, the gear-drive is quieter, the wheel size is larger and allows for more leverage. The pedals, however, are just about the same.

I highly reccomend the DFGT to anyone, especially if you're not needing the clutch/H-Gate Shifter.

GT3 is especially entertaining with the DFGT. Much better feel than the DFP.

;)

I totally forgot this thread with all the gt5 news :sly: I have some times on gt5p TT`s. Best one currently rx7 on suzuka east 10th place. It was a 3rd on its best :ouch: But even on a short track like that I am still 0.5 sec behind at my best. Fuji I have not problem with..

Because I feel the grip level different on DFGT I have had change my driving style completly... But anyway, DFGT is a much better wheel, I just think I have to adjust to it.

And is anyone here that have have experience with both DFGT and G25? I am only interested in differences in FFB.

So, I recently tried to play Richard Burns Rally on my DFP. I can't do quick turns because I feel I'll break the wheel. I know that the force feedback has something to do with this, but it also feels as if the wheel itself is too stiff. Is the DFGT better in this regard? I've heard that it uses different gears and turns a lot smoother.
