DFP Will Not Go Into 900 Degree Mode

First off, my DFP is over a year old (so it would be out of Logitech warranty) and was purchased renewed, so no manufacturer warranty.

It suddenly stopped going into 900 degree mode. If I try to manually go into it I can hear that it is trying to (no clicking, just hear some sort of movement inside), and the right light comes on very dimly. Have any of you had this problem? I've emailed Logitech and they tell me that they won't be able to replace it because it is over a year old. My next option is to tear it apart and see what I can do myself. I tried to find something on Google but only found pedal problems, which looks to be the same here, though I admit I didn't search. I'd appreciate any tips/pictures/walkthroughs on what to do. The wheel works fine in 200 degree mode and has force feedback still. I'm just hoping I don't have to buy another one.

However, if I try to switch it into 900 mode, my right light doesn't come on. I've opened the case up and found that when trying to switch from 200 to 900, the little servo motor that physically locks the wheel into 200 mode doesn't work, it actually tries to move in the wrong direction! Since my wheel wouldn't calibrate if it wouldn't go into 900 mode, I left the wheel open and manually change it every time I start my PS2. Although I wouldn't highly recommend this approach if you don't need to; I've cut my finger on the open plastic casing while playing.

That said taking the wheel apart and looking inside isn't that bad of an idea, as long as you're careful.

Hmm... Very weird. It still works in 200 degree.. Have you got another game you can test the 900 degree on? Sounds weird, but I would have tested if I were you..

IMO, if you've got choice between repairing old one, or buying new one, buy a new wheel! You won't regret..
I'm on my second wheel.. Spilt soda over the last one, so I bought a new one. Feels great! 👍

No reason to test it with another game, if it won't manually go into 900 degrees with ToCA it isn't going to in any other game. Actually, Logitech said that they do not repair DFPs that are under warranty, they just replace them. I think I'll email them again and find out if they will repair it for a fee, if not I'll buy another one. Not such a big deal anymore now that they've dropped in price.

Make a call to logitech if its your last resort they send you a brand new one
