I'm just curious to know if there are any die hard Gran Turismo Fans in the area, because I have yet to come face to face with someone who likes Gran Turismo as much as I do.:indiff:

Oh, no. We're all about Grand Tourism. We travel the world on fancy yachts.

Howdy! I'm up in Plano! I play as much as possible, but my game handle is different from my forum name. Personally, I'd rather be at the real track (I go to MSR as much as I can), but GT5P is more economical for sure. ^_^

I'm the most Hardcore Gran Turismo'er of everybody I know. I don't think anyone I know have completed any Gran Turismo (except Prologues and Specials) to 100%.

am i a harcore fan?
i have a full homemade POD in my room ...permanently/never moved(you could probably move it and see the diference in floor color lol)
and when im not playing on the TV (im out)
i play GT2 on my PSP

First post here...that's the reason I bought the PS3 for GT...well that's not what the wife thought :) but now I have the DF:GT wheel with a stand from Wheelpro in Poland...and I have a Gran Turismo emblem on my SUV and on my wheel so that might say I like the game just a little

I am a hardcore gt fan. My partner of 6 years left me the day my G25 arrived and my only thought was....

"Oh well ive got a G25, the 50" lcd to myself and a lot more spare time now!!!"

Does that qualify me as hardcore!? :-)

I traveled to London every day for one week during school hours back in March from Surrey just to attend the GT5 Prologue Championship so that sorta defines me :) Loved the series since the Orginal Gran Turismo, Besides best descion I made too :D

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think this thread was asking if there were any hardcore GT fans here on GTPlanet (methinks that would be a bit of a silly question, no?) but in the DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) area where the OP lives...? What he's saying is that he hasn't met any hardcore fans in person in his neck of the woods...

As such, TunerFocus, do you actually do anything about that? I can't say I met any real GT nuts in the flesh until I took myself to a UKGTP meeting...

We also have a section dedicated to Local Gatherings in the Rumble Strip:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=180 , so you might want to post something in there? 💡

Awesome!!! When you say MSR, your are referring to Motorsport Ranch, right? I'm still working on figuring out how i'm gonna get my '03 Focus out on the track without paying the ridiculous initiation fee, but on to more imortant things, seeing that true GT fans do exist in my neck of the woods, um...are there get togethers close to North Richland Hills?

Thank-you, that I will do...

Man... I JUST saw that you messaged me on the PS3... I had no clue I could even message people until last night... or I would have surely let some punters know how I felt.

Sorry for being so slow anyway...

As for MSR, I AM referring to Motorsport Ranch in Cresson. I'm not a member either but go as often as possible with some of the different schools, and HPDEs in the area. My favorite is Apex Driving Academy. The Driver's Edge is pretty good as well, but spread over two days and lots more downtime.

Either way, for a smaller fee that MSR's membership you can head out to the track with invaluable in-car instruction for a whole day or weekend. All you really need to do is make sure the car is in good shape, all fluids are good, and have meat on your tires and brake pads and you're golden. You'll learn a lot, and a lot that will actually translate to the game as well. Its super fun. If you can't run, you can always go out there on a day and get a ride with an instructor as well.

As for get-togethers, I sometimes meet with the Subaru crowd, but I'm not a brand bigot either, so I can hang with anyone who likes cars and racing. ^_^

Seems we need an all day event at Cresson, then. Race at the track, take a break for GT5:P in 1 of the garages, and so forth. ;)

Hell yeah that would be great! Now we need someone with a Garage...

Are you a member out there?
Nope. Cresson's a bit of a drive for me, so I head out there when I can. I'll be out there during Lamborghini's Concorso in April.

Haven't received an e-mail back yet from the track, so I've asked someone else I know. I'll post then. :)
