I hate the fact that its pretty much impossible to drive in this game no matter what settings I use for my wheel you cant feel the road and it seems a bit lagged out in my eyes. dissapointment 👎👎

I think it feels pretty good. At least as good as any other console racing game, except for maybe Ferrari challenge.

DFGT on the PS3 is giving me a rocking good time. Different cars give different results but I have no problem driving pretty much the same style as I drive in GT5 with good results in Shift. The lag is only visual with the wheel not with its inputs and it is rare in my experience. Did you try adjusting to 450 or 900 degrees and all that?

Well, a lot of people seem to have sorted it out to their satisfaction. I wouldn't give up so easily if I was you.

It's almost like they few underlying models of cars, how can a modded BMW feel like an Aston martin which feels similar to a porsche.

Agreed. It was tough starting out. Spend the time to adjust to your liking. Use AWDwhite's settings as a starting point and tweak from there. It made a difference for me.

I think the real problem is that people want GT physics. Honestly, I think Shift 2 is more realistic vs the more friendlier handling of GT5. GT5 also has 9 different tire compounds compared to 3 for Shift 2. Put the same tires on in GT5 as you do in Shift 2 and compare.

MrSchwarz
+1 for AWDwhite_2g's settings. I changed to his and haven't looked back.

Definitely improved the game for me:

Is there still input lag? Could you explain the benefits of these settings?

Just a quick note: I bought the PC version but got to play with a friend's PS3 version for an evening. Both systems use my Fanatec GT3 v2 wheel. The PC version "out of the box" feels 100% better than the PS3 version. Even with tweaking as suggested in this forum I'm unable to get the PS3 version to feel as good as the PC version does. So it looks to me like they are treating console users like second-class citizens. It wouldn't hurt to email them (nicely but firmly) and suggest to them that the FFB on the PS3 version should match the PC version.

Exactly:

Mannnn...... that really is a night and day difference. That particular race is very sloppy on the PS3. I had to abort that race. Although I always have trouble driving that model in any game, in Shift 2 I was the worse. But this is the only race thus far I have had a bad handling experience. Hopefully a patch will come if not oh well. I am not going out to buy another copy to have on 2 platforms.

LMAO, try with a DS3 and i bet you ask yourself did they even consider pad users.

Exactly, how can someone say in 2011, if they even considered wheel users... when every video shown had a "pro" using a wheel with ease. With a gamepad, NOW that's a challenge without any assists.

GO STEERING ASSIST !

total BS that the "floaty" feeling seems default with a wheel. I've tried all of the recommendations and still loathe the way this game feels with a wheel.

This could all be fixed with a firmware, but it will be too late as I'm getting rid of this **** game quick.

This is the last time I buy into EA's hype.
