I am looking to buy my 1st brand new car, I am eyeing the Focus ST... but why does Ford.ca not list this car?

The ST won't be out till later this year and even then it'll be expensive and probably hard to come by. The ST will also have a 250hp 2.0L turbocharged engine, whereas the normal Focus only has a N/A 2.0L engine with 160hp. The normal Focus is fairly sporty though.

The SE is the base model of the Focus and doesn't really come with much on it. It can be had with a sport package which gives you the suspension off the Titanium and 17" wheels. I went with a Titanium because it had the stuff I wanted, mainly the upgraded sound system and better seats. For the 2013 model year all of the Focus models have an optional manual transmission too, whereas the '12 only had one available on the SE.

If you are looking for something just to drive from point a to point b the SE will be fine. If you spend a lot of time in your car, look at the Titanium, it's a nicer place to be. You can also get the Titaniums with a handling package that gives you 18" rims, summer tires and a different suspension. I haven't driven one but everyone on the Focus forums that has one loves it.

This is from Focus Fanatics, it shows what suspension comes on which car by using part numbers.

This is compiled from checking dealer inventory VINs in Etis, parts lists from Fordparts.com, and information from other posters. It is interesting to see how the different models are packaged. It also makes me wonder if there are errors in Etis. For example, I don't see the "MD" rear springs being used with any model, but I expected them to be used on the Titanium with 18" wheels. Also, the SE Sport uses the S rear springs?

There is no difference between hatch and sedan suspensions.
All models use the same stabilizer bars - 23.5mm front and 19mm rear.
Both suspension packages use standard brake calipers and pads.
There are two different front lower control arms - one for the S model (15" wheels) and one for all other models (16", 17" and I assume 18" wheels).
Front suspension knuckles are the same, but different rear (I think) suspension knuckles for 18" wheels.
