Are there any differences in those 2 Games?
I saw at laptime records in this forum some ferrari lap times.

I have PAL Systems, there are no ferraris in my GT4.

Welcome to :gtplanet:

Ferrari is not in any version of GT4. The first GT containing Ferrari is GT5 Prologue GT HD Concept. It must be a time from Prologue that you saw.

And yes, there are many differences in GT4 PAL and GT4 NTSC, none of which is the inclusion of Ferrari.

That I can recall right now, GT4 PAL initially had about 20 more cars than NTSC, Mission 34 was about 12 seconds shorter and some of the licenses were different, although I'm not entirely sure on this last one.

One more difference: PALland is Better!!!
Um, Tom pretty much summed it up
Off-Topic: I need to change my Avatar, thought the new fad was periodic, not PS spoofs, know where i can?

Well, to be fair, the Adobe icons are meant to resemble entries on the periodic table.

lol, haha. I guess this thread should be closed 'cause the main question's been answered...

Important difference in supported resolutions:

PAL: 576i
NTSC: 480i,480p,1080i

@daan: The first GT featuring a Ferrari is GT HD Concept :).

A couple of the licenses/missions are harder in the PAL version. But i think the uber easy mission 34 makes up for it :)

I'm speaking particularly of the ones involving the Takata Dome NSX (JGTC) which for some reason handles completely different in the PAL version. (it spins so easily you have to lift off for some full throttle turns and have to wait later to put the power back on out of turns. It adds up to somewhere between 1 and 3 seconds a lap in the hands of an average driver)

Try taking the thing around the ring the gap will be ~20 seconds.

The PAL version of the game has the following cars that don't exist in the NTSC U/C version:

Toyota Esso Ultraflo Supra (JGTC) '01 (due to the dispute between Exxon & Standard Oil about the Esso/S.O. trademark when heard in radio adverts in USA.)
Vauxhall versions of the Opel cars. (VX220 / Speedster & the Astra & Calibra Touring Cars)

There are also different naming conventions to reflect local markets for some models, e.g.:
Nissan Silvia K's Aero (S14) '96 in PAL is the same as the Nissan 240SX (S14) '96 in NTSC U/C,
Honda V6 Ima Mid Dualnote '01 in PAL is the same as Acura DN-X Concept '02 in NTSC U/C, etc.
I'm not going to list them all, Famine put together a spreadsheet that lists all the versions of cars that're available in each different release of GT4 (There's several different regional NTSC versions!)

There are also some proven power / performance differences between similar cars in the 2 versions, GT4 WRS Week 51 : "Re-start your engines"

pal versus ntsc versions of gt4: what are the differences? and some more info in here.

Also there are differences in the some of the licence tests and driving missions, most notably that it's widely acknowledged that the pesky Mission 34 is easier in PAL than NTSC U/C.

I've always thought this was funny, because they change it to be incorrect for the NTSC game and then change it back for the PAL game.
