different control schemes?? (controllers)

hi everyone.. hmm i was just wondering if any of the controller drifters use a different control scheme than the default. i personally use my right analog: up for braking, and down for foot break; and my left analog for steering. I find that using the default controls it's hard to control your speed, while drifting, with the buttons. anyone else? :confused:

i use a ps1 controller. non-analog. plus it isn't pressure sensitive. it was harder to learn, but not impossible. my drifts are normally just as smooth as those people with wheels.

I use a wheel so this doesn't apply to you, but thought I'd contribute anyway :P

I use all standard settings except that I moved e-brake to R1 and reverse to L1, that way you don't have to move your hand off the wheel in order to use them. I found that if I have to do that, it distracts me and I always screw it up.

I use the wheel, and I assign the right analog stick on my ps2 dualshock controller as my E-brake. I've found this to be the best way to utilize the E-Brake because the E-Brake can be controled with the analog stick. It really recoginizes the difference between full E-brake to slight tug of the E-brake.

I've been drifting with the wheel, but recently been practicing with the analog controller now. I find the default setting uncomfortable for drifting using manual transmission so I have set my buttons as so:
R2: accell
L2: brake
Square: shift up
Triangle: shift down
R analog to the right -> : E-brake
Circle: reverse
X: change view
L1: rear view

This feels very comfortable...my index fingers control my pedals, my left thumb on the left analog to steer and my right thumb to shift or pull the ebrake.
