With March just around the corner, let's select the next Difficult Car for tuners to test their skills on. We had a decent turnout for the OPTION (I still have reviews to post up), so choose carefully our next car!

Stratos! Good looking car, lots of pedigree but horrid to drive. Plus you have the street and rally version to choose from when tuning.

I went with the Oullim because I've never had a reason to buy that car before.
Looking forward to the next challenge

I voted for the McLaren. I loved the feel and look of it in GT5. If we can get it near the way I had it back then, that would rock. ( I havent even bought it yet so I dont know how it is stock yet)

I still have to post my final rendition of the option XS, I'll do that in the morning.

I still vote for the Auto Union or the infamous Audi Ultra. What happened to the options to vote for them? I thought this was a democracy. :sly:

sorry i glanced over Spirra and read it as Supra forgive me. I still reckon the Auto Union is a hard car to drive despite 1.04

Ahh ok, easy mistake lol I've not had a look at the auto union but I imagine corners aren't its strong point

i would probably say DeltaWing > R8 ultra Team Phoenix > Diablo GT2 > Audi Auto Union from "easiest" to hardest cars to drive, without forcing ballast or adding weight

I skipped it by accident, sorry.
My tuned ford ka drives fine and I would say the LMS ultra is hardest IMO
Really? Would you mind posting your tune? Because every tune and everything I've tried doesn't help, it's still plagued by terrible understeer. The only thing I haven't tried is a lot of ballast because I didn't want to add it to the car.

Ok my "tune" is really just a ka with engine upgrades weight reduction etc. I only modded the suspension a little And raised the mph preset a bit. Sorry for kinda lying

I voted for the GT1 TURBO because I suggested it. :D

This car has serious over rotation issues in stock form. I have tamed it, but it's a constant work in progress, so I'm very interested to see how others attack it.

I like all the cars in the poll, they fit the bill nicely.

Maybe keep this list, and work through it? Just an idea. :gtpflag:

I'll help in any way I can with every car except the x-bow.
It's not really a Kart, but its similar to a Kart, and has Kart ways. I do however have my x-bow tuned well, well enough to run the x-bow races in the game anyway.

Looks like everyone want to hit the Lancia first

I agree and besides, Praiano and MCH both have very good tunes for it (X-Bow).

Hadn't checked the main thread board of this tuning forum in a few days, and I was just trying to get the STRATOS as well tuned on sports hards at Rome. Now i may have to look into what is required to join the appropriate tuning competition... also i am now intrigued by a few of these suggestions, for example, the Ka.

Not exactly a competition. More of "A meeting of the mind's" where we all put our heads together on one car, and create a few tunes, learn from each other, fail/win, revise tunes, and try to come up with a couple real good working tunes in the end.
There are some who think it is competitive, or treat it like it is, but I think that just makes them work harder :)
Together we will figure them all out, and more importantly, learn a few things from each other.

Out of those the Cerbera Speed 12 is by far the hardest car to drive. then comes the Cizeta. I also think the Huayra is a nightmare to drive, it shoud atleast be nominated, together with the Auto Union streamline...

Edit: I see most peope vote for the Stratos. The thing with that car is that at first, it seems horrible, but if you just learn how it handles, it becomes very predictable, even when pushing it to the max. (with firmer suspension installed that is)

That can be said about anything. Including the Huayra, V16T, Speed 12 and Streamline you mentioned.

Sure, its just my opnion, could be the power output that is much higher on those cars, i dont know... But in the latest seasonal event, the LCC Rocket was close to undriveable until i got the settings right. It was feeling stable, and all of a sudden the rear end would just snap, with no chance of catching it. The same goes for the Huayra and Cizeta, and the Streamline and Cebera has massive understeer into the corner aswell as heavy oversteer on the way out. Atleast with the Stratos i can feel when the rear end starts to slide.

I actually had no problem with the Rocket. I drove it completely stock other than the suggested transmission change. Granted I was not trying to climb the leaderboards, just get gold, which did not take much in the effort department for me.

In the end what it comes down to is how closely do the driving characteristics of the car match your driving style and comfort zone. If you think about it, all you are doing when tuning anything is changing the characteristics to something you are comfortable driving. Sometimes you can adapt to stock, sometimes a minor tweak is all you need and sometimes you need to adjust everything to get a handle on it.

In general, I think the "difficult cars" get called such because for most people they are hard to adapt to or tweak. Possibly because people don't understand tuning and how to adjust what they want/need, possibly because of strange programming of the code, or any other number of reasons. For some, as in your case with the Stratos and mine with the Rocket, you can just get a feel for the car and no tuning may be needed.

Just clarifying my point, not really disputing anything.

73 Lancia, by far on this list IS the worst of the worst...I see what other have decided on, but if you look at what kind of driving the car was meant and used for, the Stratos is a monster IMO

The next nomination thread be sure to throw it in there. Nobody nominated it in this month's nomination thread. If I remember I will include the Huayra for you, but just in case I forget, look for the nomination thread next month.
