I chewed/dipped practically non-stop for 16 years. The only time I would stop chewing was to start smoking. Chewing is the hardest addiction to quit. It is compared to heroin addiction. My daily routine would be:
*wake up.
*put a chew in
*shower
*Spit out the chew long enough to eat and brush teeth
*put chew in - leave in until lunch adding new chew as necessary.
*spit out chew long enough to each lunch (sometimes I would even leave it in during lunch)
*put chew in - leave in until dinner adding new chew as necessary.
*spit out chew long enough to eat dinner (sometimes I would even leave it in during dinner)
*put chew in - leave in until bed time adding new chew as necessary
*spit out chew long enough to sleep (sometimes I would even leave it in during my nightly rest)
Trying to quit chewing was the hardest friggin' thing I have ever done in my entire life. Once you get going on it, your entire life WILL revolve around it.
I have happy to say I have been tobacco free for about 3 years now.
