Hello all! Well I wanted to be the first to put one on so here we go.
Unfortunately I will not have the game until about 1am EST time tomorrow night here in FL. So my information wont be full until I analyze all of the content.

I basically would love to run it like a WRC Championship would. Have multiple stages to make up an entire rally, then rallies equaling the Championship. And use the Xrossover and RallyXross events and the "Power Stage" events.

DiRT 2 Allowed stagger starting, so I only assuming this one will, so stages will be constructed in that format.

I would like to start it about 2 weeks after game is released, to give everyone time to play it and get a feel for cars and so we can figure out if there are OP cars and such.

If you have any suggestions, I will be sure to note them when I start to write everything up :)

p.s. Thank You Jordan for making Sub-Forum for us

I'd be keen for it, but I'm playing it on PC. Not XBox or PS3.

And instead of just "DiRT 3 Rally Championship", can I suggest a name a little more consistent with the DIRT series? Here's some suggestions, in order of my favourites:

GT Planet Transcontinental Showdown

GT Planet DiRT 3 Grudge Match

DiRT 3 Battle Royale by GT Planet

How, exactly, will you structure it? I assume it won't just be rallying - there'll be Trailblazers and Gymkhana, right?

Yes, I will make the "Power Stage" portions of the rallies, different disciplines. But for this championship, it will be primarily rally. I know this is very brief right now, just wanted to capture some attention for it :)

If GTPlanet was based on a smaller community we can simply report our times or scores, and that would make managing the events a lot easier. However, that's not the case.

Well the dirt3 portion is certainly smaller lol but the issue with that, is people will just be grinding away all day getting better times, which defeats the purpose :dopey:

So, would this be online racing or offline time trials? Sounds interesting.

Edit: probably offline right since we would be working with 3 versions of the game.

You could state in the rules to have proof of your record ready to be presented should you be asked for it... If that doesn't happen because someone didn't take a picture, is it possible to compare record times amongst friends? That's another way to get hard evidence.

I don't understand why you can't save replays? It would make something like this so much easier. I understand limiting upload length to youtube but excluding harddrive saves? Makes no sense. Maybe a patch will fix this.

So, how, exactly, is this going to work? Is it going to be open season on cars? Or are we just going to specify the period (ie WRC, 70's, Group B) and go from there? Or are we all going to be using the exact same car? And when we nominate a car to use, will we be limited to using it for the rest of the season? If so, what happens if we get to Gymkhana and that car isn't available?

Gymkhana will not be in this. I want to host a Rally specific championship to start. It will be Rally, Head2Head and RallyXross events.

I will come up with a name folks lol I just put that there to state what it is I wan to start.

I will be grinding through the entire game today to unlock as much a possible to start getting all of the full details.

As of right now, it will be online for PS3. Unless some people can host on a different platform roughly around the same time.

Well, the problem is that some of us are playing on PS3, some on the 360 and others on the PC. I'd love to take part, but I can't if I'm the only one on the PC.

I've been in charge of holding week-by-week time trial events in Hot Pursuit 3 where an event is randomly picked on another forum I visit.

Any allotted car(s) for that event may be used to set a record time. Once we set a satisfiable time, we simply post in that thread stating our time and car used.

360 and PS3 were accepted but on PC there was a possibility that mods and/or hacks taken place to gain an unfair advantage so PC times were not accepted. I personally felt (after playing it on PC myself), that cornering in HP3 PC was much smoother and easier than on console thus setting a faster time was possible.

But in any case, Will this take form in that of Brackets?
