Disabling IE shortcut keys?

Many times I've been typing a nice long message here on GTP or Facebook, and I spell a word wrong. I backspace a few times to retype the word, when unexpectantly my computer reloads the previous page I was on as if I've pressed the back button next to the address bar. I eventually figured out that double-tapping backspace loads the previous page, which is a really, really dumb shortcut feature if you ask me. Anyway, how can I turn this off? I haven't had any luck googling this, so I thought I'd ask here. My computer is an HP Envy running Windows 8.

On IE I do not believe there is a way to do that, unless GTPlanet code it in via Javascript to perhaps prevent it. A third party tool may do it, but I am not aware of any that would...

Try Firefox/Chrome/etc perhaps?
