Distance is a PC/Mac survival racing game that combines the intense action of arcade racing with the exploration of an atmospheric world. You control a unique car that allows you to boost, jump, rotate, and even fly through a chaotic and twisted city. The world has a mysterious history, and as you explore you'll be able to uncover pieces of its past. In short, it's Trials Evolution + Rush 2049 + Halo + Tron.

The roads are treacherous and unpredictable with obstacles around every corner. Instead of doing laps on a loop, you'll be trying to survive to the end in the quickest time. Since your car has several abilities, it allows you to not only drive fast on the track but also upside down and on buildings and walls! You can also fly to discover new shortcuts and paths. You'll be able to take on the roads alone, or in multiplayer with your friends!

The game is a spiritual successor to the multi-award winning game Nitronic Rush, created by ourselves and 8 others while attending DigiPen Institute of Technology. It was widely praised for its innovative mechanics, visual style, audio design, and atmosphere.

Currently the game has a kickstarter page and a steam greenlight page. Pledge at least $15 and you get beta and full release access. You get more benefits if you pledge more money and that's detailed on the kickstarter page. The game is also going through the process of getting approved by steam and help them out by visiting the steam greenlight link below. Log in and click yes to help the game get approved to be sold on the steam store. You can also read their AMA(Ask Me Anything) link below.

Personally I loved Nitronic Rush and I hope that this game will be made. If you feel the same way as me, then please click yes on the steam greenlight page and pledge $15 or more on the kickstarter page.

Funny, I was just looking at some racing games on Greenlight and really liked the look of this. I kind of need something to fill the void left by the closure of Studio Liverpool, if there's another Wipeout game I have a feeling it won't be as good as they used to be. Death Road may be closer to Wipeout than this is but this still looks like something I'd play.

The best way to see if you would like this game is to download the free game of Nitronic Rush. Personally it's the best for me since it reminds me of the 90's arcade racers(Heck Distance is trying to make arcade machines for the $10K backers).

Liverpool is still alive despite it closure, all the employees were absorbed by evo studios , in other words, evo studios DIED and Liverpool got reamed.. As i can see no motor storm games in the future.
