Division 1 (Introduce yourself!)

i felt left out so i decided to make a Division 1 thread 👍. Most of us Div1's know each other but as there are some new faces id thought it would be nice for each of us Div1 guys to give a bit of background and information about themselves.


My name is Dion and I first started on GT1 in about 1999/2000 i cant even rember playing GT1 but thats when i first started. Then i got GT2 a few months after it came out and finished that 100%. Got gt3 about 3ish years ago and I thought i was the bees knees as far as drivers went. Found out about WRS around 18mths ago and competed in week 31 or so, This was my first OLR and i found out I was slower than most guys . I was mid Div2 or so. Continued Racing in OLR for about 2 months until PS2 broke down (i took it apart to clean it). Got a new ps2 at week 95 (around the same time i got GTA SA ) then at week 100 i really started trying a lot, and moved up to div1. Got GT4 the day it came out and then Dad (Large_Fryz) and I got a DFP and built a cockpit Pics.

I live in Queensland Australia and my other hobby is riding motobikes, my lovely bike is a 2003 YZ125 ( Pics) which im gonna race in the near future.

Hi,
I'm the Sphinx, real name Jerry (not exactly true but that's all you're getting). I am 43 years of age but act more like 12 most of the time (I'm sure you've noticed ).
My wife and I have 4 children, Jonathan, Samuel, Hannah and Charlotte.

We are located in the UK and reside in the County of Hampshire in a medium but well known sailing town on the Solent called Lymington. A nice little place if you're into sailing and you have loads of money to afford to live here. Sadly though, I'm just a poor local who was born and bred here so I don't fall into that category and therefore live in a shoebox next to a ditch on the edge of a road. Mind you, we do have all mod cons and our toilet facilities are second to none, so we don't complain, basically we wash & crap in the ditch, but if it's raining we have an old out-box we can use so we don't have to get wet at all, oh the luxury.

My current occupation is connected to a local Sailmaking company who employs me (allegedly), but I spend most of my time at home doing private work and only go in when they either have a really crappy job that no one else wants to do, or something they can't do themselves or on their own. (if in doubt, call Jerry out )

Is that enough? You bet it is.

I'm not in Div1 (only in my dreams lol), but I would like to invade your thread to ask the following: What exactly is a board challenge? Basically the best drivers from all the different forums competing in some sort of competition?

Hi all, Marco here, I started with GT1 when it came out, gave it a good hiding as I was working on a deep sea trawler and played it when we had downtime, I stopped playing so much when I started road racing motorbikes. I didn't play GT2, but got into GT3 just over a year ago after seeing GT3Times on the internet and thought it would be fun to compete. Was in last BC as adifferentname for GT3times. I'm currently at NZ maritime school earning a 2nd mate foreign going ticket so that I can be an officer on ferries, tankers, cruise ships, mega yachts etc. I GT4 LAN every monday night with some local friends including JoeRacer from TORC.

Some of you I know (good to see ya back!), and some I don't (good to meet ya), but with all of these meet and greet threads going we'll be a big happy family pretty soon

I'm luke, I'm 24 and live with my wife (no kids yet) in Toronto, Canada. I'm a graphic-designer-slash-web-guy ... I do a little bit of everything web related as a job.

My roommates in 1st year of university played GT2, and I watched a bit, but didn't really play. I bought a PS2 in 2002 to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, and got GT3 as a christmas present from my folks. Played GT3 for about 10 hours a day for a week solid and was hooked ever since. GT3 and now 4 is really the only game I play. I got a DFP for christmas this year, and sent the wife to buy GT4 first thing the morning it came out

I found the GT3 WRS in week 2, just as I was finishing my first time through the game. I started out in D3, and placed 3rd It's been home ever since.

My name is daniel holland, and i'm 20 years old, i live with my parents and i'm currently studying engineering/Science at university of melbourne. i plan to finish that in bout 3 years, (i'm in my third year), and i then wanna travel the world a bit, in particular, england, cos i got a few relatives up there.

After than, who knows, but i'll be looking to establish myself in to an engineering job somewhere here (i almost forgot, i live in Melbourne, Australia).

As for gran turismo, well, i've always played it a bit, but not that much, but it wasn't untill GT4 came out that i really started playing it. um, yeah, thats about it

John here. Just to introduce myself I'm 29 and have been a big racing fan for as long as I can remember, all the way from Pitstop 2 on the C64, Grand Prix on the Atari ST (waaayyyy better than the Amiga version) through to GT3 and now GT4.

In real life I drive a red Merc 300SL and follow F1 and MotoGP almost religiously.

This is the first time I've competed in a race series like this and I must say the commitment and organisation is really cool and greatly appreciated.

I've competed in all the 4 Board Comps and fluked a double win in BC4

Currently I have a life of leisure and build PC's and stuff at home and sell them on whilst Kel goes to work and brings in the cash for our luxuries 👍

Anyone here have the F1 car yet? Just did some laps in arcade mode to see what I could do and got a 49.417 at midfield. To me it looks like 48's are possible, but it will take a damn good lap.

Just about time for bed for me, so whilst I finish off my cuppa, here is a short account of my GT profile.

I'm now into my 5th year of GT OLR. I started OLR in 1999 but I don't think the term OLR was even used back then lol. My original driving name was Anglisaxon and when Racing-line came to be, I settled there and made it my home board but alas shyte happens and I had to move away from there last year

I don't personally have any major claim to fame within GT, I consider myself as a grey driver, fast but not fast enough.

I was however part of the winning team for BC3 (GTN) and a podium place (3rd) in BC4 (GTN) and enjoyed 3 personal podiums out of 4 races. Not bad at all for a grey driver, but had to work damn hard to get them.

My name is Ben and I'm 16 years old. I live in Wisconsin, USA. We have possibly the worst weather combinations of anywhere. Below 0 winters with sh!itloads of snow, then in the summer 100 degree heat with tornadoes and flooding. At least it's exciting . I started playing GT with GT3. I actually found GTP through one of the photochop forums from google . Once I saw the OLR forum I was hooked.

I'm Michael and i'm 21 years old. I live in Arakansas now, but grew up around the world because my dad was in the Air Force. I currently work at Tyson on the night maintenance crew. Its actually a nice paying and fun job once you get around the odd workshift schedule.
I started playing GT way back around when it first came out. I rented GT1 and litterally played it for almost 3 days straight until I had to return it back to the rental store, then I went out and bought it Ever since then i've been hooked with GT.
