Hey there, hope it is ok i just created a new thread for my new cockpit, as it honestly doesnt fit into the "cheap cockpits only" thread, if you buy these stainless steel parts.

The reason, i put DIY in quotation marks: I did not make it myself honestly, my stepfather built this for me, as i am a theoretician and not good with one's hands. I just "helped" him. He got his own business and is confident with such things.

This picture is of it's actual stand.

It's hard for me to explain, as i am from germany and I am not that good in English, so I hope you will understand: (specially not sure about the technical terms)

The wheel is gonna be fixed at the top border, the shifter just on the left side (right side if you sit on the chair). Its a bit lower than the wheel as you can see. The pedal-system will be back-holded by another border, which u actually cant see on the picture. Below the wheel-border you see a board. Its a drawer for a keyboard and mouse.

Actually I am thinking about spraying it black, not sure yet.

I will take another picture, when the wheel etc. is on it.

Looks stable but I think the chair would have to go as the pattern screams martha stewart. ;-) yes I agree, spray her black, get a racing chair and the ladies will be all upon.

Ye the pattern looks ... not that good :D But its quite comfortable. Did not have the money to spend on a really good racing seat yet.

Well try to sit in whatever your replacement is before you buy it. My AK rocker is basically a big plastic racing seat with a rocker, and even though it feels good for 10 minutes it gets uncomfortable and sweaty after a while. Looks like your stepfather will probaly have to help you remount the new chair to it judging by the way the current one is mounted Get it set up the way you like it and you can keep this rig forever.
