Just looking for a little input guys. I'm finally making solid credits and have my selection of cars on hand pretty much where I want it. Recently got my Nissan R92, Mazda 787 ( my current favorite monster ). I'm about 80% done A-Spec but haven't touched B-Spec. I got a 2J on my birthday ( it gets no better than that ). And the Red Bull Prototype came with the game. I'm at about 14 mil credits. Never thought I would need or afford a 20 mil car but it looks like I'll have the funds to do it once.

Th only car that seems worth having (for competitive Seasonals ) is the Ferrari 330 P4 69 ? I'm not "collecting" cars but like having the garage well rounded.

Any "must have's ". Other than the 2J I got on a lucky day, I never had my sights on a 20 mil car.

You can win the Ferrari 330 67 in the 580PP La Festa Cavallino seasonal. In the Indy 500 A-Spec endurance race you can win the XJ13 Race Car 66. So those are two 20 million cars you can get for free. The Ford GT40 69 you can win in B-Spec if you play B-Spec. So the Ford Mark IV Race Car 67 is the only one you need to buy if you want to get it. You can win the Chaparral 2D 67 and the 65 Alfa Romeo in seasonal events as well.

Apart from the "Historic Racing Car Cup" in A-Spec I am not aware of any events that require theses these vintage race cars so I wouldn't say any of them are "must have" if you have the 2J to beat that race.

The Miura is a very fun car though, and also competitive in online races. I would personally recommend buying that car from the super-expensive cars since you can get most of the race cars for free.

The Mauri ...

That was one of the cars people post about/use/ battle it out with in Seasonals sometimes. I forgot about that one! Thanks! And it's only 15 mil...

The ford mark IV race car is a sweetie also. I'm not sure how much it differs from the GT LM cars other than it has a year designation.

You will get people here saying that you need certain cars, you must have all the Super GTs, or you have to buy all the Le Mans series.

It's all crap. You don't need a $20mil car for anything, there are many cheaper cars that are just as capable.

Yes some of the cars can be fun, some can pretty much guarantee an easy win but how much do you actually want to enjoy the game? Where's the fun in buying all the expensive overpowered cars just for an easy win? If I don't like a certain car I won't buy it.

The choice is yours. If you run the online seasonals a few times you can build your credits pretty fast, then you'll be able to buy any car you want.

The Lamborghini Miura is a fun car to drive, so is the Ferrari 330, but this is just my opinion.

Never heard of the Mauri. What dealership is it in?

I recommend the Alfa Zagato. Pure driving pleasure on sports tires.

Buy them all and share them with your less fortunate friends. Nothing wrong with showing off a little bling. :sly:

Technically you need one to get platinum, since there's an achievement that requires you to win a 3-way race involving the XJ13, 330 and Mark IV. Other than that it's unnecessary.

... but still fun.

As others have said, you don't 'need' any of the expensive cars (other than the trophy thing above). Credits aren't hard to come by in the game now, unless you're playing completely off-line. Just grind a few Seasonal events and you'll have enough money to buy as many Cr20mil cars as you want. Like others, I bought all these cars, just because...

If you buy a 20 million credit car you will have 0 credits and receive the "Penniless" trophy.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I've decided to wait on purchasing a 20 mil car for a bit. I'm currently at 14 mil credits and decided to wait on the Miura even though I want it eventually.

I still have to try the Historic Racing Cup in A-spec, and the only car that seems to be competitive is the Toyota 7 Racing car. So the next thing to do is win the B-spec "Like the Wind" event and I'm good to go.

Good thread, thanks for the information about winning the 20 mil cars. Looks like I'm going to save my 20 mil purchase for the Ford Mark IV race car.

Even if the Mark IV can be won in a B-Spec race?

^ this... I don't believe you need a $20 million car, unless you are hemorrhaging cash and need a quick way to burn it all. I own every car in the game that interests me, that's about 500 cars, and I still enjoy the game plenty. The other 500+ cars just don't do much for me and that's OK. To each their own.

This is the official name:
Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706 ’67 (Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Polyhony Digital Trophy 2008)

Wait, it can be won in seasonal race where you get a ticket? I was thinking only the Ferrari P330 can be won. Let me know. Someone above stated you have to buy the Mark IV.

That 330 P4 Race Car, which also costs $20000000, can be won in the online Ferrari Seasonal Event.

On the other hand, the Mark IV, like I said, can be won in B-spec race, specifically the Indy Race 500, I think. I may be wrong about the race, though.

You are mistaken. That's the Ford GT40 Race Car '69 that can be won in that event. The Mark IV is not a prize car in the game at all....except for maybe in the online Seasonal events which I don't remember if it was ever offered or not.

All the input has been helpful. Even though I haven't touched B spec. I guess someday I'll have to try it out. Just not appealing for me to spend time setting up a race to not race? But to each their own.
I'm still at 17.5 mil credits now... Feels like nothing I HaVE to have.... I'm sure I would buy th J2 if I hadn't own one on my Birthday !

I clearly play/drive too much. I have about 20 of these expensive cars & am BACK up at 20m credits with no idea what to spend it on... Life's a biatch!
