Just curious, first off is this a topic that can be talked about on GTP wanted to ask since I joined but am now getting around to it. Also do people that race pink slip challenges actually give up their cars in the end?

You should get some races set up for pinks. I would be interested just for fun of it.

Well if you think so Lumberjack I plan on hosting such a series I'm writting up the rules for it. Something that will actually test racers.

Sometimes, sometimes not. A while back I was in a lobby racing for pinks and after I drag raced a person the Admin threatened to kick me if I didn't send him my car so I ended up sending him the car but I only did it because the lobby was active and I wanted to come back to the lobby after sending the car to the guy. In actuality though the majority of the time unless it's a lobby specifically where the name implies that the lobby is only for people willing to lose their car if they don't win a drag race do people actually send their cars to each other. The majority of lobbies I've been to with people racing for pinks are usually full of uneducated, ignorant, idiots that start insulting me with profanity if I don't get on the track or drag race them.

Well Bass I'm quite serious. With all the new seasonals and all the money I have already. Losing my Enzo or ZR1 isn't a big deal
I save all my set ups on word documents, so really I could just go buy a new one rebuild and reset and tweak from there so I don't lose next time. Giving up a car on a game where you can easily get another one isn't that big of a deal to me. Hence why I really want to do this.

No offense I think pinks races on gt5 with the way its setup is a very dumb idea. though I do love to drag and race some people will be true to there word others will not. Its easir I think just to trade cars especially with someone that is looking for something specific you eventually build a trust factor and can do multiple trades just my 2 cents happy racing

Very true mate! at the end of the day if you dont want to lose your car then people should'nt enter these races.

Since there's no solid way of confirming that a car is sent, let alone the right car, to the winner, this idea is pointless.

Drag racing, however, is a whole different competition that I respect 👍

P.S: Why not just Dupe your car if you don't want to lose it?

Rue one could duplicate there car if it's that big of a deal, I just like the idea of going around and beating people then winning their car. It's unique in alot of cases when you do get the car because of sets ups or paint and rim selection (when premium of course). Just lets you look at some of your cars and the stories to how you got them.

Could you send some of those setups to me?:sly:

I had an idea along these lines a while ago, the idea would be to race something you didn't mind losing, but there's so much duping going on, I feel the idea has lost it's edge. Having said that, even a copy of a car someone has spent some time on could be cool. Keep me informed

I've done this type of drag racing in the past and in short not very many people follow through with it except of course if you are doing it with friends that you know, they are more than likely willing to follow through.

@ Slyck Tires
If you're interested go to the link that I've put in the tread it leads to the series that I want to start. Hopefully you'll be willing to join. Same with anyone else that seems interested.

What is this the 1950s? :sly:

Anyway, sounds like an interesting idea for an organized race. Good luck with that guys. 👍 I'll be sure to keep an eye on that race plan!

But yeah, in pub lobbies... I tend to believe bass264 & Crazed_Coupe posts regarding this.
Sounds like a recipe for puff pastry thinking & bitter pill endings, at the very best. LOL
I'm not sure outside this forum this type of race would attract people doing it for the sheer entertainment factor. IE: in pub lobbies you can come across some really unchecked bizarre individuals.

@ WatermelonPunch Yeah you're right I guess that's the reason why I asked but I guess I should have initially asked "if someone were to host a series where you win cars through pink slips, would you honestly follow through if you lose?" Or something along those lines. I think the concept of you winning a car of mine that gave you trouble in the race that you won, and now you get a shot at owning it and making it better sounds fun.

I had a lad try to hussle me one night in a nurburgring nordschleife race. I'd only been in the room a few seconds when one of them ask's if i'd like to race for "pinks"

I said "yeah if you turn your driving aids off then i'll race whatever car you want" which got a bit of a reaction! Him and his mates all started laughing at me obviously thinking he un-beatable. I even heard them say that if i dont give him my car when i loose they would hack my psn account and take it which got me proper fired up.

So when the race started and i took it easy into turn 1, passed him going through turn 2 and left him for dead. I was 15 seconds in the lead after about 2 mins and he pulled out of the race saying my car was too quick which was odd as they both had roughly 640pp.

They were very quiet after that, i let him keep his car and left the room laughing :) so its a good thing but only with people you trust

Quite funny really but if you look at the link I provide for the series I want to run, we will run with many of the aids off to be honest. I'm actually glad you beat this guy it's a shame that you didn't get the car, but if you beat him by that large of a margin it's probably a car you don't want.

LOL since alot of you guys seem to be interested in racing these type of events as long as they're facilitated and honesty is upheld I will post of the rules and what not of the series I'm planning in this thread

Here is the challenge I wanted to set up

SUPER STREET: PINK SLIP RACE SERIES

Hello folks

Now I was thinking the other day, how most of these events or series tend to fall (not always) at awkward time periods, rather than complain I thought it’d be more productive to build my own series. As the title states this series is different from your normal run of the mill. See this series allows the first 3 pts finishers something different; an opportunity to obtain the cars that their opponents used against them through out the series. Most series run a certain theme whether it is nascar, super gt, touring, or Le Mans. This series will use street cars for the majority with the exception of four races which two will be fought in rally cars and the other two will be mystery events that may be drift, nascar, or Le Mans or something else all together. The key here is to challenge a racer to the fullest so they are worthy of being given the cars they beat their opponents for.

Now the rules are simple:
• We are looking for street cars, racers are allowed to pick up to three of them from their garage and use them throughout the series in the 7 street car only events.
• However, drivers do not have to use all three cars; the more cars you use and are record though will be lost if you do not make the top three in points. For example if I decide my main car is an F 458 and my back ups are a Ford GT and an M3, but I only use the F 458 and the M3. I also end up getting 5th in points this means that I must hand over my two cars due to losing.
• The other four events will be more racing oriented in nature, meaning you will have to bring a race car, now these race cars are not up for grabs. These cars are only meant to be used for the race at hand. So basically this where you’ll race Rally for two of them and other two are mystery events. (The group of racers though can decide to reverse this by vote though)
• If a tie happens with in the top three a specialty race agreed upon by the tied racers will be raced to see who places where in points.
• This is meant to test racers, so bringing some of your best cars to the table would be ideal and is a respectable agreement I’m looking for from the racers. Only the best racers can enter this event and I (as well as other honorable drivers) don’t want anyone who is not willing to race honestly or that is going to lie about giving up their car(s).
• Don’t enter this event unless you believe you can drive greatly, you don’t have to race with I or anyone else in the series if you’re that afraid of losing a car.
• Wrecking a driver on purpose may cause an automatic DQ for the offending driver. If an accident happens due to hard racing both drivers might be docked points. Basically we want clean racing but if someone is blocking you and you’re faster then you’re allowed to race them harder. We’re human and even if we’re good accidents will happen.
• This is supposed to be a fun series if you lose your car in the end it’s not that big of a deal and it just shows you how much you can grow on the game really. –Not really a rule
• Regulations will be agreed upon as a group, but for basic knowledge right now…we will not be racing cars like the Veyron or concepts accept the FT-86 if you like. If there is a car you’re not sure about ask me and I will decide. Anyways I want a series full of cars that are tuned engine wise and set up wise to their best.
• No foul language or any other trouble will be tolerated if you don’t like a judgment or you feel you were treated wrong during a race, tell me or the group in general and we will save a copy of the race to be reviewed. If something did occur the appropriate actions will be taken.
• This is more of a rule I’m going to see if possible. But I’d like to have a qualifying session.
• Drivers will race in manual (can also be voted upon if needed)
• The points will depend on how many drivers we get if we get 10-16 it will operate the same way 2011 F1 rules have.
*if you feel a rule was missing or should be introduced feel free to make a reply post and it will be put in if it fits.
