Do the Logitech DFP and DFGT feel the same?

I normally use a G25, but have been told that the national finals are all using DFGT's. I have my old DFP still and am wondering if it will stand me in reasonable stead for the DFGT if I have a few days practice on the DFP?

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm already at a disadvantage by not knowing Route 246.

Thanks guys :)

The pedals are very similar, but the wheel of the DFGT feels more like the G25 than the DFP. It's probably worth spending some time with the DFP to get reacquainted with the brake feel.

... and good luck in the finals!

A few days practice with a DFGT would probably help more. I've used all three and the DF-GT wheel is closer to the G25 in feel than than it is to the DFP. The DF-GT is not as smooth as the G25 but I prefer the feel of the DF-GT so I use a hybrid of G25 pedals and DF-GT wheel.

Really though, if you're serious about winning the national finals what's the cost of a DF-GT.

I've sourced a DFGT from a friend, of a friend to get familier with the wheel.

As Vaxen said, it's worth using your DFP just to get used to the pedals - for me the brake pedal is the biggest killer. It's about a 10th of the resistance that a G25's has.

Try putting a "Squash" Ball under the brake pedal. An old trick from the days of the Logitech "Blue" wheel that has worked well on my Red MOMO & DFPro as well. And "Good Luck"!!! ...O.G.

I put a small balled up peice of bubble wrap under my brake pedal, so it maxes out at 75% with modest pressure, and 90 with max pressure :)

Thanks for the ideas guys.

Am I right in thinking I could plug my DFP pedals into my G25 and get something 'close' to what DFGT will feel like? Getting hold of a DFGT at this short notice isn't really an option.

As far as I know you cannot interchange pedals like that. The thing is, if you are good enough to be in the national finals, surely you are good enough to quickly get to grips with the hardware and learn the racing line of a new course?

Good luck!

Try it and find out.
As they are both Logitech, I would think it will work.

A reply about your findings would be nice.

Good luck in the competition.

I have a DFP and having tried the DFGT, the pedals are WORSE by far. I suppose that it is because they change between wheels even in the same model, but in my DFP they have more resistance.

???

That should not be the case.

I have owned both, and the DFGT has much more resistance in the brake pedal than the DFP. The DFGT pedals are improved over the DFP. You may have a bad unit.

;)

I have both the DFP and DFGT, the difference in the pedals are minimal.
It's basically the same exact parts with better potentiometers.
I use both every week for approximatly 5 hours each and notice no difference at all.

I would get use to the pedals as they are a lot different than the G series pedals.

It's probable, although it's the same as I tried in the Spanish finals in 2008. Maybe my DFP is better than usual

The difference between the two pedal sets (DFP vs. DFGT) is minimal. However, there is a noticeable difference. The DFGT brake pedal is[/b] more firm than the DFP unit. If one does not notice this, you either have a bad unit (DFGT) or you're not very observant.

;)

That's my feeling with both wheels, but changing in what you've said the words "DFGT" and "DFP"

The brake and the throttle pedals in my DFP are more firm than in the DFGT.

Maybe I have a bad unit (it's not mine. A friend has lent it to me), but I am sure of what I am saying. I've played with that DFP for 4 years :)

Interesting. That's the first time I've ever heard someone say the DFP pedals are better than the DFGT's. Luckily they can be switched out, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I guess the 6 or 7 units I've used are all bad then.
I just got done feeling both I have at home, by hand, I can't tell any difference in pressure.

I'm not claiming anyone is wrong, but maybe Delphic has a bum unit, along with us.

And danilc1007 didn't say better, just firmer.

I have a friend that took out the spring for the brake on his DFGT, he loves it. Weirdo.

With the different responses about the pedals it goes to show that both are not as good as the G series.
They all (DFP, DFGT) seem very variable.

And info on the compatabilty of the G pedals and the DFGT.
Actually they are compatible, as that's what I drive with. Logitech DF-GT wheel, Sparco Racing Cockpit and G25 pedals. The plugs are different but all you have to do is take the pedal assembly from the G25 and replace the cable with the one from the DF-GT pedal assembly.
