Do you ever drink and drive?

On my fourth fat tire and I'm just about to jump online in GT. Other times have consisted of Gin. It's kind of fun to see just how hindered your driving ability gets while under the influence of alcohol. Another fun idea would be to have a party, and see who the best drunk driver is in time trials.

A couple pilsners are good for me! I think anyone who thinks they can drive well drunk should play gt5 while intoxicated. Hit the wall at 200mph and you would think twice about doing it in real life.

I've been known to smoke and drink while driving (gt5, folks), so I must be going to hell... twice.

Every New Years, a few friends gather for my Nurburgring Nordschiefe Challenge.

Step 1. Run a lap sober to establish a baseline
Step 2. Drink a beer while waiting for your next lap.
Step 3. Smoke a bowl while waiting for your next lap.
Step 4. Attempt to complete a clean lap.
Step 5. Return to step 2.

At the end, we compare our times, both sober and blitzed. After 2 laps, it gets ultra-competitive, and everyone has a safe place to crash, rather than driving home.

Been goin on since GT4. I love welcoming in the new year!

Oh, yeah never on GT5 but almost always on Test Drive Unlimited 2. Lol I'll go to the casino, get hammered and then go for a little drive around south Hawaii normally. People know to leave me alone on TDU because they'll normally get one of my 'special' drunken messages with a lot of incorrectly spelled rude words.

Edit: of course never in real life. Although I have worked on a car while drunk. Although I didn't know I'd been drinking alcohol, so...

WOW KB18FAN, thats crazy! Im glad you survived though (though I couldnt imagine what you have to go through :( )

When I play GT I cannot drink more than 3 or 4 beers (though I drink usually about 6 per night).

After 3-4 I start dazing off too much and am not competitive to any real player and can only beat the AI then or some Friends and Family that visit. (I once beat my Uncle-In-Law after about 9 beers and even stopped on the track to get another beer... lol)

I agree with what everyone said on here though. On a video game is one thing, In real life... dont do it! I have known several friends when I was younger loose their lives over doing that.... One not only killed himself but his siblings as well when he decided to drag race another car (mildly intoxicated) and hit another car head on over 100+ mph... yeah, bad idea and driving IRL like you do on GT isnt a good idea either... Keep it to controlled environments like it is supposed to be.

Thanks bro, appreciate it. I have my good and bad days. And people on here wonder why I'm a grumpy ass old man on here sometimes, lol. Well, now ya know, lol. Its all good tho, could be worse I guess.

I've been guilty of thinking that. Sorry, now I know. :) Hang in & stay positive!

IRL, one beer where I live & you're over the legal limit. And there are roadblocks galore. You have to be crazy to drink & drive. I grew out of that many years ago, with no mishaps, thank God. :ill:

OT, I'm partial to a few whiskies & water. Wouldn't even THINK of firing up the ol' PS3 without one! ;)

Coca-Cola, water, or sweat-tea. Yes, I'm a 38 year old adult who doesn't really drink. Maybe a 12 pack a year. lol

More than me. I am a 25 year old who's never drank alcohol before. I generally go for a Coca Cola, tea or hot cocoa when I drive in GT5

I will go further in saying my dad died when I was 3 years old because he drank and drove. My mom had an 89 Mercedes 560 SEC and he drove off with it and ended up in a tree without wearing a seatbelt at about 150MPH.

Sorry to hear my friend. I have lost a few friends this way. I'm 45 now, but back in high school we suffered a great loss due to this needless behavior. 4 kids died and 1 has brain damage. The 4 that were killed, 2 were cheerleaders and the other two were star football players for our school. A very tragic loss and a day I'll never forget. I just wish there was a way to stop this drinking and driving. Again, sorry for your loss.

My drink of prefference is Coffee, and it's mandatory to have a full steaming mug of fine roasted coffee by side either if I'm driving in the game or in real life. I hate alcohol.

Sometimes. During race meetings, an energy drink to keep me focused(thats how i beat the vettel challenge).
When i'm enjoying myself, a few beers, no fancy spirits for me thanks.

I'd easily get busted by The MAN! My logo says "DONT DRINK & DRIVE GT5!" on my Wine_0o account :D Drink a glass or two of wine every night, but more since I stopped smoking cigs. Give up one bad habit and make another habit worse if even possible! jeez.

The main thing I try to avoid is tuning the car while buzzed. Once I am sobber the car acts totally not right. :)

no, but i do drink and fly on a WWII flight sim. Some of the mid air collisions and planes smashing into the side of carriers can be entertaining.

Not big on drinking but I love to smoke(:)) and drive. Awesome experience Nurburg at night in the rain, in your favorite sounding car, and just cruise. No music just car and environment.

Just oxycontin 30mg and hydrocodone 10/325. Legally. -and coffee. You don't drink alcohol with those.

For myself to get "primed" for a good round of racing it's either something green to smoke and or Rye or beer. If I'm feeling really adventurous, I get a couple of Gasoline shooters (JD and Tequilla) into me... Gas makes you GO!

Have a good one

Thats pretty much what the Doc has me on. Norcos and I have my medical marijuana card. Oh, lets not forget the valliums also. This is why I stick with Pepsi, lol. I love a nice bowl, a Pepsi, and cruising around the Nurb while taking in some Pink Floyd!!!

I hear that!

As we all know this practice is high frowned upon . I have been lucky enough to have made it home many a night. Now that I am a little old and wiser I know when I have reached my limit. That being said, if you want to kill yourself use some other means.. This is not the way to go as it will almost alway take out some innocent victim.

re-read the first sentence in the first post.

I heard that if you drive the 'Ring backwards and listen to Dark Side of the Moon they sync.
