Hi guys. My Dad was offered a deal he couldn't refuse yesterday. A 1989 Jaguar XJ6 Sedan with only 100,000kms for $7,500 CDN or about $4,650 USD
It is from California and was brought here last spring, it has NO rust anywhere and I am pretty sure it has the 3.6L I6 with 200hp and 248lb-ft of torque. There is nothing wrong with it and has had no major repairs. The interior and exterior have been freshly detailed and it looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.
Should we sell it and try to make a few thousand dollars, if it's worth that. Or should my little brother get it (he turns 16 in Feb)?. (He doesn't like it and my Dad has kind of promised him a Nissan Sentra SE-R). I dont think it is about to break down and has been VERY well taken care of. It drives very nicely and feels quite strong engine wise as opposed to what some of the reviews I have read about it so far, have said.
So, is 1989 still too early to trust, or should we just enjoy this classic Jaguar and keep it around as a timeless motorcar?
PS I love it almost as much as my Jaguar because it has so much character and alot more class and style. Plus it was actually made by Jaguar as opposed to Ford.
I really appreciate any advice from some of the more seasoned veterans at the game of life (Older Guys). Although everyones advice is appreciated because I am interested in everyones perceptions about this car? What do you think about the older Jag's?
