Gran Turismo 4 is only going to be as perfect as people say it is. You can't make GT4 any perfect. I've liked GT4 since seeing pictures and stuff. And while sticking to an underground community like here on GTPlanet, my anticipation for this game has been heightened greatly. So, after reading about what this game will offer, I can only hope the game won't disappoint me, or at least say that "this game could have been better." I saved that remark for GT2. However, even... just about ANY GT for that matter is only as good as PD makes it. Judgment is resevered to the game player, which means you, myself, and others. I mean, if you think GT4 is a good game when released, your call. If you think GT4 is a waste of time and want to play Project Gotham Racing 2 or RallySport Challenge 2 instead, that's fine. All I'm saying is that GT4 will be created with love and care, also with the notion of making it a hit. My analogy would be that the amount of devotion and care going into GT4 is like parents raising their child/children to follow in the footsteps of their loving parents. All the while, learning new things in school and making friends in life. Regardless of the situation, the child must learn and learn, develop and develop, and do whatever it takes so that when this "child" makes it into the real world, he/she will be able to make a statement when ready for tough times and valuable lessons.
So what stage is GT4 in? It's in the development stage, getting ready to get into the real world. And when this "child" makes its way into the real world (game stores), us GT fans will grace it with love and respect. We'll own our rivals online. We'll enjoy the single-player experience. We'll do it all, even if we don't think it's on par with other racing games not like GT. And as I say, who cares about certain non-critical issues about GT4? Do stylish wheels mean anything? Reverse lights? Visible damage? Mirror-like car reflections? Cardboard people? Well, if you know that the game is more important than graphical features, you know which is more important. If you know the graphical features are more important than the game, you obviously need a crash course in what seperates classic games from substandard games. I don't have a teaching permit, so you may have to learn on your own.
